More sickening details have emerged from the preliminary hearing of singer D4vd, with prosecutors revealing that the 14-year-old girl he is accused of murdering had been impregnated by him a year before her death.
A hearing of singer D4vd, legal name David Anthony Burke, took place in Los Angeles on July 24.
Detective Corey Farell and Deputy District Attorney Beth Silverman presented hundreds of text messages and photographs recovered from Burke’s phone spanning from November 2023 to March 2025.
Among the messages shown to the court Burke asked Celeste Rivas Hernandez when she was going to get a pregnancy terminated, to which she replied it was going to be in “two days.”
He then asked: “also my mother always told me to ask this question if I was ever in this situation.. it is mine right?” to which Rivas Hernandez replied that it was “of course” his.
“Let this abortion be the last one till we have the real one” another message from Burke read.
Prosecutors believe the abortion took place in January 2024, approximately one year before Rivas Hernandez’s dismembered body was found in the back of a Tesla registered in Burke’s name.
She would have been 13 at the time of the procedure.
Evidence from the garage
Also presented at the hearing were findings from Burke’s Hollywood home, where bloodstains found on a rubber floor mat, a rowing machine and a Tesla charger in the garage were confirmed by LA police criminalist Samantha Tosch to be a strong DNA match for Rivas Hernandez.
Police also said they recovered nearly 50 photographs from Burke’s phone showing her naked or the pair engaged in sexual activity.
Rivas Hernandez’s body was discovered in a Tesla towed from the Hollywood Hills in September, nearly five months after authorities said she had been was killed. Her arms and legs had been cut from her body along with two fingers, including one with a tattoo that read “David.”
According to court documents Rivas Hernandez had threatened to reveal information that could “end his career and destroy his life.”
Investigators previously reported to have found a ‘significant amount’ of child abuse material on Burke’s iCloud.
He has pleaded not guilty.
