Tributes are pouring in for Hayden Panettiere after the actress was found dead on Sunday, aged 36. One of those who are remembering her is her friend, musician Clayton Johnson. On Instagram, he has penned a sweet tribute to her, revealing the last text she ever sent.
Little is known about the death of actress Hayden Panettiere. The actress was found dead at a residence in Greenville, South Carolina, on Sunday, but the cause of death has not yet been determined.
However, Page Six obtained the 911 call audio, in which it is stated that they responded to a “cardiac arrest.
According to dispatch audio obtained by Page Six, CPR was already underway within minutes of the emergency call. Responders reportedly continued lifesaving efforts, including chest compressions and advanced cardiac life support. Panettiere was later pronounced dead at the scene.
Still, while the dispatch audio has led to reports that an overdose may have been involved, officials have not confirmed this as the cause of her death.
The 911 audio also saw one of the dispatchers describe Panettiere as being in cardiac arrest before a male dispatcher suggested that she had suffered an overdose. She was pronounced dead at the scene, less than an hour after the emergency call was made.
The death of Hayden Panettiere – autopsy revealed
On August 17, an autopsy was concluded, in which no signs of trauma were found.
“At autopsy, no signs of trauma were discovered that would have contributed to the death,” coroner Mike Ellis said in a statement, according to People Magazine. “The cause and manner of death remain pending further investigation and the completion of additional studies. This investigation remains active and ongoing. No further details are available for release at this time.”
The statement also stated details from first responders, after a 911 call was answered at roughly 1:51 pm local time in Greenville, South Carolina, on Sunday.
“First responders and Emergency Medical Services arrived on scene and located a female in cardiac arrest. EMS personnel initiated advanced cardiac life support measures; however, resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful, and the individual was pronounced deceased at 2:32 PM,” it said.

On Instagram, one day after her death, Johnson shared a clip of the two singing along, accompanied by a text reflecting on their friendship.

“Sweet Hayden. I spent last night trying to process, to try to find the right words, but there really aren’t any. More than anything, I hope you’re at peace now and reunited with Jansen,” Clayton wrote, referring to her younger brother, who died just three years ago.
Johnson continued, “It’s been a couple of weeks since our last phone call, but the last thing you ever texted me was, ‘Honestly, people think it’s a joke to ask for world peace, but that would be me.’ That was you in a nutshell.”
Johnson concluded, saying he was “grateful” to have known Hayden Panettiere.
