Newly obtained 911 dispatch audio is shedding light on what happened in the final hours of Presley Gerber’s life.
The 27-year-old model checked into a rehabilitation facility in Santa Monica on September 19, just one day before his death. According to reports, Presley had sought treatment because he knew he needed help after years of struggling with addiction and mental health issues.
Then, on the morning of September 20, emergency responders were called to the facility.
According to dispatch recordings obtained by People, the call came in at approximately 9:35 a.m. for a cardiac arrest at an address in the 1000 block of Berkeley Street. A separate dispatch also referenced an overdose at the same location. Police, firefighters and paramedics were sent to the scene.
Presley was pronounced dead at 9:45 a.m., according to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner. The emergency response reportedly continued for several hours, with authorities remaining at the facility for around three hours.

The details from the 911 recording are particularly striking because they offer a glimpse into the emergency that unfolded shortly before Presley’s death.
However, the mention of an overdose in the dispatch does not establish his official cause of death.
Santa Monica police said they were investigating the death as a suspected overdose and that there was no indication of foul play. An autopsy was performed on Monday, but “the cause and manner of death have been deferred, which means additional testing and/or studies were requested in order to make a determination,” Santa Monica police said.
That means the final cause of death remains unknown.
However, as officials investigate a possible overdose, one forensic expert has questioned how he even would’ve gotten his hands on any drugs that could cause an overdose.

As authorities continue investigating Presley Gerber’s death and a possible overdose, questions have also been raised about how he could have obtained drugs while staying at a rehabilitation facility.
Forensic analyst Joseph Scott Morgan questioned that very issue while speaking to NewsNation.
“I think my big question, being that this is a rehab center, is: Was he checked? Were any of his visitors checked? Did anybody bring anything in at all?” Morgan asked.
Now, a new report may offer one possible explanation.
According to TMZ, people who were in regular contact with Presley and say they have direct knowledge of the situation claim that his doctor continued prescribing him ketamine despite allegedly knowing about his history of substance abuse.
The sources told TMZ that ketamine had reportedly been an ongoing issue for Presley and that the doctor was aware of his struggles with addiction.
Ketamine is used medically for several purposes and has also been studied in connection with substance use disorders, although treating addiction is not an FDA-approved use of the drug.
Close friends reportedly “furious” over ketamine
The allegations have reportedly left some of Presley’s closest friends deeply upset.
According to TMZ’s sources, several friends are “furious” that a doctor allegedly continued giving Presley ketamine despite his history of addiction.
The sources reportedly believe the doctor should face prosecution over the alleged prescribing — although no charges have been announced, and the claims have not been established by authorities.
Presley’s death came after years of publicly discussing his struggles with addiction and mental health.
His younger sister, Kaia Gerber, had spoken about his decade-long battle with drug addiction just weeks before his death, while Presley himself had repeatedly used social media and public appearances to talk about his own experiences.
His final public appearance came on June 11, when he appeared alongside his parents, Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber, at a mental-health-focused event in Malibu.
Following his death, the family released a brief statement asking for privacy during what they described as a “very difficult and painful time.”
Now, the newly released dispatch recording provides a clearer timeline of those final moments — but several important questions about what happened inside the facility remain unanswered.
