Pictures of Erika Kirk, which were shared separately by self-described “aspiring senator” Jacob Falach and political commentator Joshua Carr, appeared to show both men posing with Charlie Kirk’s widow on the same day.
An account criticized Erika’s style which ignited a massive debate online. The post on X gained over 3 million views. The post said, “This chick thinks she’s 16 but she’s almost 40. She dresses so odd for an older woman. She needs a stylist ASAP.
However, others pushed back, writing that the post was mean-spirited. One person wrote, “I’m no fashionista, but pretty sure button-ups tucked into jeans are a timeless, clean look at any age. This is a weird, girl-hating-girl post. Gross.” While another person added, “a blouse…and jeans…are dressing young? wtf? Her look is age appropriate”
However, the person pushed back, also pointing out that she thought Erika’s bracelets were inappropriate. They wrote, “Well clearly Erica never grew out of her middle school era she’s wearing a bunch of gold bracelets with friendship bracelets and weird pieces of string and all kinds of crazy sh*t”
Not everyone found the criticism amusing.
“The bracelet was clearly made by one of her kids 😂 I’m not even a fan of her but cmon” one person wrote.
But the criticism did not stop there
She doubled down and said she thought Erika should dress more professionally given her new position as CEO. She wrote, “I think if she’s going to be going on podcasts and meeting with people and representing her company I think she should be wearing some slacks and some heels and a nice blouse this is not how you dress if you’re a respectable responsible CEO she needs to take off all that jewelry and look the part.”
Others wrote that while they might not be fans of Erika Kirk, they found the criticism unfair. One person posted, “I don’t like her but there’s nothing wrong about wearing jeans and a button down”
Erika took over Turning Point USA after Charlie’s death
After her husband’s death, Erika assumed leadership of Turning Point USA, the organization he founded.
Her appointment has prompted questions about how the group will move forward without Charlie.
“It’s a lose-lose,” a former employee told Vanity Fair about Erika becoming CEO. The former employee reportedly considered her the obvious choice, while noting that she could not simply replace Charlie.
Erika also described how she works at the organization’s headquarters. She said she does not have her own office and instead uses a couch near Charlie’s desk.
His office has been preserved in his memory, she explained, and no one has sat in his chair since his death; except their toddler son.
