The Grammy nominations are scheduled to be announced on November 16.

His Love For Huddersfield Town Began When He Was Just Seven

Stewart’s connection to Huddersfield Town went back decades, long before he became internationally famous.

In a 2017 interview with Sky Sports, the actor recalled how his uncle Arnold first took him to see the team play when he was just seven years old.

That early experience stayed with him, and he remained a devoted supporter throughout his life.

In 2023, he spoke about the special place the club continued to hold in his heart.

“Huddersfield has always been my club. I watch every match, usually 24 hours later,” he said, according to Huddersfield Hub.

His love for the team was also mentioned in the statement announcing his death, which described him as a “lifelong Huddersfield Football fan.”

Patrick Stewart Died Surrounded By His Wife And Loved Ones

Stewart died at his home in Los Angeles with his wife, Sunny Ozell, by his side.

According to a statement from his longtime spokesperson, Kelly Bush Novak, the actor had experienced a “brief and poignant journey with Alzheimer’s Disease and Lewy Body Dementia.”

The statement described his final days as being filled with the company of family and friends, as well as music, prayer, laughter and tears.

“He has been held in the warm embrace of family and friends, surrounded by live music, prayer, tears, laughter, and the kind of profound emotion that only he could inspire after a lifetime of devotion to us all,” it read.

The statement continued by saying those closest to him would forever remember the peaceful expression on his face, describing it as an enduring reminder of his “invincible grace.”

The Legendary Actor Leaves Behind An Extraordinary Career

Stewart was best known around the world for playing Captain Jean-Luc Picard in the Star Trek franchise and Professor Charles Xavier in Marvel’s X-Men films.

However, his career extended far beyond science fiction and superhero movies.

He was also widely respected for his work on stage, particularly his performances in Shakespearean productions. His theater career included work with the Royal Shakespeare Company, as well as Broadway appearances in Macbeth and Waiting for Godot.

His ability to move between acclaimed theater performances and major Hollywood productions made him one of the most recognizable actors of his generation.

Patrick Stewart was also expected to reprise his role as Professor Charles Xavier in Avengers: Doomsday, scheduled to arrive in theaters on December 18.

While audiences will remember him for his unforgettable performances, his final public appearance offered a reminder of the person behind the celebrated career: a lifelong football supporter who never lost his connection to the team he had loved since childhood.
