A family was outside doing yard work when their 1-year-old boy suddenly wandered away — and what happened next ended in unimaginable tragedy.
A heartbreaking accident has claimed the life of a little boy, just 1 year old, after he wandered away from his parents while they were doing yard work.
The tragedy happened Friday afternoon in Jonesville, Florida. According to the Florida Highway Patrol and local news outlets, the parents were doing yard work outside their home when the little boy wandered off without them noticing.
When they realized he was missing, they began searching the places where he usually spent time. But in those brief moments, the little boy had made his way onto a nearby road.
A driver traveling along the road did not see the child in time and struck him. The toddler was rushed to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, WCJB/Gray News reports.
Authorities say charges are not expected against either the driver or the parents.
It is the kind of tragedy no family should ever have to face.
