Model Barbara Palvin gave birth to a little girl in September. Just six weeks later, she walked the Victoria’s Secret runway, drawing widespread criticism. Now, Palvin has responded to the backlash, defending her decision.
33-year-old Hungarian model Barbara Palvin gave birth to a baby girl on September 7. She and her husband, actor Dylan Sprouse, named her Sylvie.
On social media, the couple has shared a few glimpses of their first time as parents. In mid-October, Palvin spoke to People Magazine about motherhood, saying that it had been “fun” so far.
“It’s been a ride, like a fun one, but also scary. It’s like a roller coaster, I guess,” she said, adding that her husband is a natural “gilr dad.”
“Dylan’s great. He always wanted to be a dad, and I think he’s amazing as a girl dad. I think he was meant to be a girl dad. He didn’t know it before, but he was meant to be one,” she added. “He’s stepping into the role. We’re both learning. It’s a big adjustment. We’re trying our best.”
While many might take it easy after giving birth, just weeks after Palvin welcomed her daughter, she went back to work.
The model walked the runway of the yearly Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, but not everyone was so supportive. Per E! News, while some celebrated her comeback, others questioned whether she was ready to return to work, suggesting she should’ve stayed home to recover with her baby.

During a joint interview with her husband, Dylan, at a Halloween party on October 1, Barbara said, “there were 50-50 with the reactions” about her decision to walk the runway.
“Some people loved that I was back, and some people were like, maybe I should be resting at home,” she told E!.
Moreover, Barbara Palvin made it very clear that everyone has different experiences after giving birth. She also stated she was “overwhelmed” by all the attention she received, thanking those close to her for supporting her.
“I’m lucky that I have the support from my husband and my family,” the model concluded. “And they were able to get me there.”
