Grown up child-star Mckenna Grace reveals what she refuses to do in intimate scenes, causing a stir

Actress Mckenna Grace revealed the one type of scene she refuses to film, and her comments have sparked a debate online.

Actress Mckenna Grace has opened up about the boundaries she has set in her career, and her comments have divided people online. The 20-year-old, who started acting as a child, spoke to Cosmopolitan in a fresh interview promoting her upcoming film, The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping.

When asked if there are any roles she would refuse to take, her answer was simple. No nude scenes or heavily sexualized characters, at least for now.

“At this point, I definitely don’t do nudity or very hypersexual things,” she said. “I respect anybody who can, but it’s terrifying to me. I don’t know if that’ll ever change.”

Darker roles are not a problem

That doesn’t mean Grace only wants to make family films. She acted in the Scream franchise, where her character meets a brutal end.

“It’s not like I only do wholesome things – my character literally gets gutted by Ghostface in Scream – but my dream is to try and be a Disney princess someday,” she said.

Many users defended her and said her boundaries shouldn’t be up for debate. “The amount of people upset about this is weird…if she’s not comfortable with doing nude or sexual scenes at the age of 20, that’s fine,” one person wrote.

Another said: “Good for her. Especially coming from a child-actress background, she gets to decide what she’s comfortable with.”

“Why are we asking this to a 20-year-old who is known for her work as a child? This is weird,” one user commented. A second wrote: “It’s so weird that she has to explain not wanting to be naked on camera.”

Grace is not the first actress to speak out about this, either.

Last month, Amanda Seyfried, 40, revealed that she said no to a TV project because of how many sex scenes it had. “I passed on a show where I would have to have sex all the time because of the sex,” she said during a panel at the Hamptons International Film Festival on October 4, People reported.

“I don’t wanna do it. I’m uncomfortable with it. I’m not into it right now,” she added. “I don’t wanna deal with being naked with a stranger.”

The Mean Girls star, who is a mom of two, said having children has changed the way she chooses roles. “I have kids now who are paying attention to what I do,” she said.

She also admitted that intimate scenes didn’t always bother her. “It used to be so fun. It was a non-thing,” she said. “It was like, ‘I get to make out with a hot person today … And they’re paying me.'”
