You can spend the night in a giant beagle-shaped B&B

Many travelers in recent years relied on Airbnb, the popular booking app that lets users rent out their homes and apartments. Besides being an alternative to traditional hotels and motels, you can sometimes find a truly unique experience for your next vacation.

The site is full of unusual listings, from rentable mansions to treehouses to the Oscar Mayer Weinermobile. But now there’s a truly incredible bed-and-breakfast built just for dog lovers.

One look at the Dog Bark Park Inn B&B and it’s clear that it’s no ordinary bed-and-breakfast. The entire building is designed to look like a giant beagle!

“It’s a beagle-shaped one-unit inn where being in this doghouse is a GOOD thing and comfortable to boot!” the inn’s Airbnb listing says.

Yes, that’s a real, functioning B&B you can stay in, with two bedrooms, three beds and a bathroom. For $139 a night, you can book the whole thing for up to four guests.

The Dog Bark Park Inn is located in Cottonwood, a 900-person town in rural Idaho. It’s owned and operated by married couple Dennis Sullivan and Frances Conklin, who are both chainsaw artists specializing in carving folk-inspired wooden dogs.

The couple says they hit their “big break” when their art was sold on QVC, and they used the profits to build the dog-shaped inn. They continue to sculpt, and sell wooden dogs at the gift shop.

In addition to its truly unique architecture design, the interior is filled with doggie decor, ensuring that this B&B is the idea place to stay for dog fans.

On top of that, the inn offers an unbeatable view of rural Idaho: “Expansive views of prairie grain fields and surrounding mountains are spectacular at any time of year,” the listing promises. “From the second story deck on clear nights the starry sky garden is equally impressive.”

The the second-storey belly patio (yes, that’s a thing) guests can peer out into beauty of rural Idaho and the surrounding mountains. (Airbnb)

But the inn is more than just a quirky novelty. Reviews on the site rave about the inn and its owners, with 94% of guests giving it a perfect five-star rating and 17 recent guests calling it “sparkling clean.”

“Frances and Dennis provide a unique, comfortable, and really outstanding experience,” a review from this month reads. “You would think the fact that you are staying in a giant beagle would be enough, but they go above and beyond to provide hospitality. We would love to come back sometime.”

While the inn is very popular with guests, there are still rooms available. So why not book a late summer vacation or fall getaway and stay in this giant dog? It sounds like a stay you’ll never forget.

This sounds like our dream vacation! Share with someone who would love this bed-and-breakfast!
