A Reddit user recently shared a hilarious tale of her cat, Kitty, who showed disdain towards her boyfriend due to him not visiting her for a month, turning the furry companion into a top-tier drama enthusiast. Keep reading for the full story!
Despite Kitty’s general aversion to men, stemming from a kittenhood incident of being accidentally stepped on, the cat surprisingly welcomed the woman’s new boyfriend with open paws during his first visit several months ago. The Redditor shared the amusing encounter in a post on the popular internet forum.
“So Kitty has never liked men due to accidentally being stepped on as a kitten. I warned my partner of this as we were coming up my driveway, his first time coming to my house many months ago,” the woman begins.
“Get inside and this puff ball with permanent bed head saunters out of whatever hole we just summoned her from, gives me the dirtiest look I have ever received, trots up to my partner, and throws herself at this 6ft man’s feet belly up. It wasn’t even a trap, man didn’t even have his shoes off and she was demanding belly rubs like she owned him for years. Ever since then my traitor of a cat will look at me with disgust and be all over him when he’s over,” the post continues.
Fast forward eight months, and the Redditor finds herself in a situation where the couple has been too busy to spend quality time together for the past month. “We mostly just go out for dinner, watch a movie at his place, and then we’re both exhausted so he drops me off at home,” the woman writes.
In Kitty’s court, this absence is deemed a felony, punishable by the silent treatment and icy glares. The cat clearly takes the term “drama queen” to new heights, with the woman explaining: “My partner is now learning the punishment is to be glared at with utter disgust and ignored to the point she will leave the warm comfy bed and lay on the cold floor just to be petty.”
When the couple finally managed to carve out a day for themselves, Kitty wasted no time in exacting her revenge. Throughout the date night filled with movies and shared cooking, Kitty alternated between approaching the partner, chirping at the woman, and then delivering evil glares to her partner while exiting the room. Any attempts at affection from the boyfriend were met with swift rejections, as Kitty pulled away and shot him looks of betrayal.
In an attempt to mend their relationship, the boyfriend even knelt beside Kitty’s chair, offering a heartfelt apology. However, Kitty, true to her thespian tendencies, responded by theatrically rolling over, turning her back to him, sighing heavily, and continuing her beauty sleep.
