Cats normally weigh between six (3 kg) and 13 pounds (6 kg). But imagine having a 35-pound cat prowling around your home. It’s not surprising if your cat is a Maine Coon, one of the largest domestic cat breeds on earth.
Maine Coons aren’t just long and muscular, they also have long, thick fur to keep them warm, which is because they originally come from the mountains of Norway.
The picture below shows the cat Stewie, who in 2014 took the title of world’s longest cat in the Guinness Book of Records.
Though it originated from Norway, the stately Maine Coon breed was named after the US state of Maine. Scroll down to see more pictures of these beautiful giants.
