Woman Left Her Dog Outside In 95 Degree Heat. Now Her Neighbors Are Furious With Her.

Dogs are part of the family and should be treated with love and care. Unfortunately, not all dog owners understand this. So when a dog owner treats their dog badly, it sometimes takes the community to step in and protect a vulnerable animal.

It all started when a woman took a picture of her neighbor’s dog every day and noticed that whatever the weather, the dog was locked up in a small cage outside its owner’s house. One day, the temperature went up to 95 F (35 C), and the dog had no protection from the sun. And looking at the picture below, it doesn’t seem to have a water bowl, either.

“You could not see any food water, there was no cover on top of of the kennel to give it any kind of protection from the sun and with the picture I saw it shows it was 95 degrees outside,” neighbor Claudia Anderson told WRCB.

When animal lover and founder of “Fighting for the Bullys Pit Bull Rescue,” Carla Patton Welch, heard about the dog in Cleveland, Tennessee, she decided to do something about it.

Carla went straight to the woman’s house and knocked on her door. But the woman was furious to see Carla standing there. She refused to give up dog, and when Carla offered to buy it from her, she refused. This video from WRCB shows the woman slamming the door in Carla’s face.

The woman who owns the dog later said to NewsChannel 9, “She’s not beaten. She’s not starved. None of that. So, I can’t leave her in the cage outside when I leave?”

No you can’t. Not when it’s 95 degrees outside and your dog doesn’t have protection from the sun!

Now, Carla is taking tougher measures to get the woman to give up her dog. She’s published numerous posts on Facebook, she’s contacted the police, and she continues to visit the woman. “We will not give up until this poor dog is safe!” she wrote on Facebook.

No dog should be treated like this! We hope Carla gets the woman to hand over her dog as soon as possible! Help out the effort by sharing it with others!
