‘Dancing with the Stars’ professional Witney Carson not returning for Season 32

Witney Carson will not be participating in the upcoming season of Dancing with the Stars.

The dance pro made the announcement on her TikTok Sunday saying, “this was not a decision that we took lightly at all.”

The longtime professional told followers it was a decision she and her husband agreed was best for their family.

“We definitely thought and prayed about it for a while, but we will not be doing Dancing With the Stars this season,” she said. “And as much as that pains me to say, I just feel very at peace with it.”

Carson, who first appeared on the reality show in 2014, said the decision not to return was based on wanting to create more “stability” for her growing family.

The 29-year-old and her husband Carson McAllister share Leo, 2, and Jet, who was born in May 2023.

“I also feel like I’m not quite mentally and physically ready for what the show calls for,” she added.

“I love dance. That is my passion, so this was definitely a hard decision but I will be rooting for everybody on the show. I’m so excited,” she added. “I definitely think this is just a break. I hope it’s not a goodbye. But for now, we will be their number one cheerleader watching. Love you guys.”

Carson’s announcement follows fellow dance pro Lindsay Arnold’s news that she won’t be returning for Season 32 after having giving birth to her second child in May.

“I don’t want to put my kids through that right now,” she told fans on TikTok.

Cheryl Burke and Mark Ballas also won’t be back, though they previously announced their retirement from the show. The upcoming season will be hosted by Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough as former host Tyra Banks has also left DWTS.

The show will also return to ABC this upcoming season after having aired on Disney+.
