What’s the best way to celebrate Father’s Day? With your family of course!
On Tuesday, Dick Van Dyke shared several photos on Instagram showing how he spent his special day. The 97-year-old Mary Poppins actor posed with his wife, kids, and grandkids.
“I never realized when I was first having kids what I was starting,” he began, “But, I’m amazed and grateful to have lived long enough to spend Father’s Day with some of my kids, grandchildren AND great grandchildren!!”
“All wonderful, non-toxic people!!”
Van Dyke has four children, Christian, Barry, Stacy, and Carrie Beth, whom he shares with his late ex-wife Margie Willett.
All four followed in their father’s footsteps early on in life, making their Hollywood debuts in The Dick Van Dyke Show, Diagnosis: Murder, and The New Dick Van Dyke Show.
“It’s one way to get to see your grown kids,” Dick told CNN in 1998. “Barry’s teenage sons were on, and I had my daughter Stacy on the show, too. That’s carrying nepotism to its ultimate!”
Happy Father’s Day, Dick Van Dyke! You’re an absolute legend of a father.
