Ellen Degeneres is reportedly “done” with Hollywood.
The former talk show host revealed her decision during a recent standup show in Santa Rosa, California.
According to SFGate, the 66-year-old comedian made the shocking announcement during a question and answer portion of her set.
One fan asked if after her standup tour, Degeneres would appear on Broadway or in films.
“Um, no,” the comedian simply replied.
“This is the last time you’re going to see me. After my Netflix special, I’m done.”
Despite another fan begging her to reprise her role as Dory in the popular Pixar series, Degeneres replied, “No, I’m going bye-bye, remember.”
Degeneres didn’t give a reason for wanting to step back from Hollywood, but her decision comes two years after ending her longtime talk show after facing allegations of a toxic workplace environment.
“I got kicked out of show business because I’m ‘mean’… You can’t be mean in show business, they’ll kick you out,” she joked during a tour stop in San Diego.
During her set in Santa Rosa, Degeneres stopped short of apologizing for her alleged actions, instead she doubled down, claiming it was never her intent to hurt anyone.
“I can be demanding and impatient and tough. I am a strong woman,” she said.
“Next time, I’ll be kicked out for being old. Old, gay and mean, the triple crown,” she joked, referring to the first time she was kicked off a television show in 1997 for coming out as a lesbian.
