Brooke Baldwin left her job as CNN anchor in 2021. Now, she has given a career update, but not before revealing new details on her personal life, including a few frank sex confessions.
Former CNN anchor Brooke Baldwin is opening up about her personal life and revealing what she really wants from a relationship.
The 47-year-old journalist, who left CNN in 2021 after 13 years with the network, recently shared a candid look at her life after divorce, saying she isn’t looking for less intimacy. In fact, she wants more.
“I don’t want less intimacy. I want more,” Baldwin wrote in a recent post on her Substack, per NY Post. “I love being deeply known, and knowing someone deeply in return. Instead I crave spaciousness — in partnership or out of it.”
Baldwin’s comments come just weeks after she made headlines with an unusually honest confession about her dating life.
She revealed that she had turned down several opportunities to become intimate with men, including one man who had previously “run a country.” Another man had even flown in to take her to dinner, she said.
Ex-CNN anchor Brooke Baldwin opens up on love life
Despite making it clear that she enjoys sex, Baldwin said she has chosen to be more selective about where she puts her time and energy. Now, she says she is learning more about herself and the importance of boundaries.
“I love to give. And if I’m not careful, it’s also one of the quickest ways I leave myself,” she wrote.
Baldwin said traveling alone has helped her understand the importance of putting herself first.
She continued, “A boundary isn’t about keeping you out. It’s about keeping me intact.”
Baldwin added that she is trying to find a way to keep the independence she feels when traveling alone while also being physically close to someone she loves.
“I have to learn how to keep this same nearness to myself while standing three feet from someone I love,” she wrote. “How to turn toward myself without needing a passport to do it.”
“I happen to think I’m a very good partner. But being a good partner isn’t the same as staying intact and whole while partnered,” the former CNN journalist added. “F–k, that’s real mastery. And I’m still learning it.”
Career update
While Baldwin is reflecting on her personal life, she is also looking toward an exciting new professional chapter. The former CNN star revealed that she is working on an independent journalism project called America, Tell Me Everything.
The project will take her across the country as she tells the stories of women from different backgrounds.
“After twenty-plus years in mainstream media, I’m doing journalism on my terms,” Baldwin told the NY Post, explaining that the project will focus on women whose lives and experiences may be very different from her own.
Baldwin left CNN in 2021 after 13 years with the network. Her marriage to British producer James Fletcher ended in 2023. Now, it appears she is ready to focus less on the past — and more on what comes next.
She wrote on Substack: “So, enough about my dating life. I’m much more interested in leaning into my life’s work — and that of women across this country. Telling their stories with them, on our terms.”
