Actor Michael Patrick, known for his appearance in the television series Game of Thrones, has died at the age of 35, his wife has shared. The actor was battling Motor Neuron Disease.
On Instagram, Michael Patrick’s wife, Naomi, has shared the sad news that her husband, the actor, has passed away. He was only 35.
Patrick had been battling Motor Neuron Disease. Per the MND Association, it rapidly “attacks the nerves that control movement so muscles no longer work. As of today, it’s incurable.
The most common form of the disease is ALS. The family of Michael Patrick didn’t specify his exact diagnosis,
Naomi revealed he had been diagnosed with Motor Neuron Disease on February 1, 2023. He was admitted to the hospital 10 days ago.
She continued by praising the “incredible team” at the hospital, where he passed away “peacefully surrounded by family and friends.”

Born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, Michael Patrick’s IMDB page states he studied acting at the University of Cambridge, where he performed with the famous Cambridge Footlights comedy troupe. He moved on to attend the Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts in London, England.
He appeared in several productions of Shakespeare at the legendary Royal Shakespeare Company in London, including roles in Measure for Measure and The Taming of the Shrew.
Had only one year to live
Michael Patrick landed a role in the praised television show Game of Thrones, starring in season six. In addition, he starred in television series such as Blue Lights and This Town, as well as the BBC series My Left Nut.
Moreover, Michael Patrick also appeared in six episodes of Blasts from the Past and four episodes of The Spectacular.
Despite his diagnosis, Patrick continued to work. In 2024, he appeared in the titöe role in a production of Richard III at the Belfast Lyric Theatre. His last role was in the German television movie Mordlichtern. – Tod auf den Färöer Inseln, which had its premiere in 2025.
On February 6, Michael Patrick shared his final social media post in which he revealed his neurologist had given him one year to live.
Patrick wrote, “still lots to live for and lots planned.”
