Heart forced to postpone North American leg of tour as Ann Wilson reveals devastating diagnosis

Fans of the rock band Heart will have to wait a little longer to see their favorite group in concert.

On Tuesday, Heart announced the remaining dates on the North American leg of their Royal Flush Tour were postponed due to an illness within the band.

In a statement, Ann Wilson, lead singer of the group, shared she had been recently diagnosed with cancer and based on her doctors’ advice she would be undergoing a preventative round of chemotherapy.

“I recently underwent an operation to remove something that, as it turns out, was cancerous,” Wilson, 74, shared in a statement posted to X. “The operation was successful & I’m feeling great but my doctors are now advising me to undergo a course of preventive chemotherapy & I’ve decided to do it.”

The “Barracuda” singer added her doctors urged her to take the rest of the year off from performing to “fully recover” and that’s exactly what she planned on doing.

Although Heart was forced to postpone nearly 50 shows, Wilson assured fans the band would be back.

“This is merely a pause. I’ve much more to sing,” she added, before writing, “Respectfully, this is the last public statement l’d like to make on the matter.”

It’s awful to hear the news about Ann Wilson. She will be in my prayers as she continues her treatment.
