One year after Amber Heard lost the nationally-televised defamation suit against het ex-husband Johnny Depp, Heard has finally paid Depp the $1 million settlement money.
According to multiple reports, including ET, a source close to the Pirates of the Caribbean actor said Depp plans to donate the settlement money to several charities.

The case against Depp garnered worldwide attention for six weeks during spring 2022.
The spectacle ended with a $10.35 million judgment in favor of Depp. Heard was given $2 million in her countersuit.
Both parties made appeals, but they were later dropped and a $1 million settlement was announced in December.

Depp reportedly plans to divide the $1 million among five different charities which range from organizations that benefit sick children to groups that help provide housing for underserved communities.
ET reports that the charities include Make-A-Film, The Painted Turtle, Red Feather, Teitaroa Society, and Amazonia Fund Alliance.
Such a wonderful idea! The money wouldn’t have amounted to much to Johnny Depp, but to these charities it will make a world of a difference!
