William and Kate – now also known as the Prince and Princess of Wales – have, just like most couples, had their ups and downs. They both studied at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland, and the couple met through friends. They dated for many years, despite keeping relatively quiet during their University years to focus on their respective studies.

Their split in 2007 became a thing of national concern, and since then, rumors about what really happened have been around.

As students at St. Andrew’s University, both William and Kate they lived in the St. Salvator residence halls – and Prince William allegedly received much attention from the women in his year.

The prince often felt nervous during these occurrences, as he has often been reported as being very polite.

He did not want to reject women in a way that would make them feel poorly.

This is where Kate, his now-wife, stepped in to help.

Katie Nicholl, a royal expert and author of ”Kate: The Future Queen”, interviewed Laura Warshauer, the royal couple’s friend, and former university classmate. Laura explained:

”Will was getting really hit on by this girl at a party and it was getting quite uncomfortable because he couldn’t shake her off. He was being really polite, but this girl didn’t get the hint. All of a sudden, Kate came up behind him and put her arms around him.”

The prince apparently understood Kate’s intentions immediately.

Warshauer said that he told the young lady hitting on him, “Oh, sorry, but I’ve got a girlfriend,” before he and Middleton walked away giggling.

William reportedly thanked Kate for her help afterward as well.

“Kate was the only girl in the room who could have done that,” Warshauer said, “and that was just a month after we started university.”

The couple remained friends and even moved into flats off campus together in later years, eventually beginning to date and later marrying.

While the Prince and Princess of Wales have a tight schedule of duties in service to the Crown, they do their best to ensure they have time for each other and, perhaps most importantly, time with their children.

The Prince and Princess of Wales are well versed in their obligations, but the start of the 2023 has been somewhat overshadowed by Prince Harry’s new tell-all memoir, Spare.

Both William and Kate – along with certain other members of the Royal Family – found themselves criticized in Harry’s book. The disgruntled prince revealed a lot about the way things are apparently done within the royal sphere, and not a lot of what he wrote paints the Firm in a good light.

As per a royal expert, William and Kate’s popularity has reached its “lowest figures on record.”

Polls have shown that Harry lost in popularity in the UK following the book’s release, which might lead people to believe that William and Kate – standing on the other side of the fence – would perhaps enjoy a surge in popularity.

According to reports, though, that might not be the case.
