Kim Kardashian has four children with her ex-husband, Kanye West. The couple’s eldest child is their daughter North West, then is Saint West, and later came Chicago and Psalm. The youngest two were born through surrogacy while Kardashian gave birth to her older two children.
The couple’s eldest child is North West, who is 12 years old. Recently, she has been the target of criticism directed at her mother. The pre-teen posted about her latest body modification: a dual dermal piercing on her right middle finger and a blue gem piercing on her left middle finger.
When the pictures were posted, they immediately started making rounds on social media, with Kim Kardashian receiving scathing criticism about her decision to allow her 12-year-old daughter to get dermal piercings.
West has previously gotten criticism for allowing certain fashion choices for her daughter. These include fake tattoos and piercings. As well as the child wearing a corset last summer.
In a recent interview with the Call Me Daddy podcast, Kim Kardashian faced the backlash she gets on her parenting head-on. She said she supports her daughter’s creativity.
She said, “I would never take that creativity away from her. She’s such a good girl and so sweet. If blue hair makes her happy, it is what it is.”
People however, were concerned about the decision. One person wrote some advice, “That is the worst place to get a piercing. The hands get the dirtiest out of any body part. Keeping it clean so she doesn’t get an infection is going to be challenging for North. She could wear gloves to keep it cleaner.”
While another person was perturbed and wrote, “as a outside looking in, this is a bit concerning..”
“Isn’t she too young for these kinds of piercings… My mom would have thrown a fit,” another person wrote.
