Last Pat Sajak ‘Wheel of Fortune’ episode revealed

Pat Sajak has filmed his final episode of Wheel of Fortune. The longtime gameshow host will spin the wheel one last time this summer.

Sajak, 77, announced his departure from America’s game in June 2023.

“Well, the time has come. I’ve decided that our 41st season, which begins in September, will be my last. It’s been a wonderful ride, and I’ll have more to say in the coming months. Many thanks to you all,” he wrote on X at the time.

His replacement, Ryan Seacrest was also announced in June 2023.

“I’m truly humbled to be stepping into the footsteps of the legendary Pat Sajak,” Seacrest said at the time of the announcement. “I can say, along with the rest of America, that it’s been a privilege and pure joy to watch Pat and Vanna on our television screens for an unprecedented 40 years, making us smile every night and feel right at home with them.”

On Friday, Deadline confirmed Sajak’s final episode, which will serve as the Season 41 finale, was taped.

While Sajak will be stepping down as host of the show – Vanna White will remain on Wheel of Fortune – Sajak has agreed to serve as a consultant on the show for three years.

Sajak took over hosting Wheel of Fortune from Chuck Woolery in 1981. In his 40-plus years as host he earned 19 Daytime Emmy Award nominations.

Such sad news that Pat Sajak, a staple of Wheel of Fortune, will be leaving the show. But we look forward to seeing what Ryan Seacrest will bring to the table.
