Lori Loughlin may be returning to television.

Brian Bird, the co-creator of When Calls the Heart, hinted at the Full House alum’s possible return during a recent appearance on the Heart to Hearties podcast.

“Well, this is a tricky question and what I can say is that there are good conversations happening,” he said. “We can’t guarantee anything, but there are good conversations happening around this topic.”

Loughlin, 59, played Abigail Stanton during the show’s first six seasons; however, she was written out of When the Heart Calls when she and her husband Mossimo Giannulli were involved in the 2019 college admissions scandal.

Her character wasn’t killed – Stanton traveled to take care of her sick mother – so it is plausible for Loughlin to return to the show.

“Our attitude always has been you know as the producing team around the writing team around When Calls the Heart that what better place for second chances than Hope Valley,” Bird said. “And so in theory, it should work, right? But again, can’t can’t fully promise it but we’re working on it.”

Loughlin and Giannulli were just two of thirty-three parents accused of paying more than $25 million to William Rick Singer, the organizer of the scheme, who used the money to bribe college officials.

The actress and her husband pleaded guilty in May 2020. Loughlin served a two-month sentence, while her fashion designer husband served five months before being allowed to complete the rest of his sentence at home.

In December 2021, Loughlin reprised her role as Stanton in When Hope Calls: A Country Christmas, a spinoff of When Calls the Heart. She also appeared on the Great American Family’s made for TV film Fall into Winter.
