“Love on the Spectrum” couple Abbey Romeo and David Isaacman have reportedly split after nearly five years together.

“Sadly, it’s true that David and Abbey broke up,” an insider told the US Sun Thursday. “They couldn’t come to an agreement on when to get married. She was ready years ago, he still needed time.”

Another source said Isaacman was “doing very well.”

The pair first met on Season 1 of the Netflix series back in 2021, which follows adults with autism navigating dating. Viewers watched their relationship begin during a first date at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park, where they quickly hit it off.

As recently as July 2025, the couple celebrated their fourth anniversary, with Isaacman gifting Romeo a diamond bracelet from Brilliant Earth.

Despite the reported split being linked to disagreements about marriage, Romeo had previously suggested they weren’t in a rush.

“We already feel like we’re already married in our hearts,” she said, per People.

She also opened up about her fears around marriage, explaining she didn’t want to “rush” into it after seeing her parents’ divorce.

At the same time, she admitted to her mom, Christine, that she wanted “to be a bride so badly.”

During Season 4, released April 1, the topic came up again when co-stars Madison Marilla and Tyler White got engaged.

“Hopefully we’re next!” Romeo told Isaacman.

“We can only be engaged whenever the time is right,” he responded.

Romeo has previously spoken about what made their relationship work, pointing to their shared experiences with autism and synesthesia, which “is a phenomenon that causes sensory crossovers, such as tasting colors or feeling sounds,” per the Cleveland Clinic.

“We understand each other [and] the way our minds work,” she told “Today” in 2025. “We’re kind and patient with each other and we’re our true selves.”

Last year, she even wrote a song about him titled “Boyfriend Forever,” singing, “You understand me, remind me to breathe / Being with you is easy, you’re just who I need … I wanna be your girlfriend forever / Will you be my boyfriend?”
