Melania Trump “spends very little time” with her husband

Melania Trump and Donald Trump have been married for a long time. 20 years, to be precise. They met at an event in New York City, and they’ve been through a lot since then, from growing a real estate empire to two terms at the White House.

Lately, however, rumors about their marriage falling apart have been circulating. Renowned Trump author Michael Wolff has revealed new details about Melania’s feelings towards her husband, with the White House also having their say.

Donald Trump and Melania first met at an event at the Kit Cat Club, where supposedly the then-model wasn’t interested. Since Trump was there with someone else and still asked her for her phone number, Melania admitted being “turned off” and said he was “totally out of the question,” her best friend Edit Molnar later revealed.

Trump had just divorced his second wife, Marla Maples, and came to the event with a date. However, when he saw Melania, he wanted to get to know her instead.

“I went crazy. I was actually supposed to meet somebody else. There was this great supermodel sitting next to Melania,” Trump told Larry King in 2005. “They said, ‘Look, there’s so and so.’ I said, ‘Forget about her. Who is the one on the left? And it was Melania.”

“Melania said, ‘He’s here with a woman. I am absolutely not giving him my number,’” Molnar recalled. “She wouldn’t even consider it. Donald did all the work.”

“He wanted my number,” Melania said. “But he was on a date, so of course I didn’t give it to him. I said, ‘I am not giving you my number; give me yours and I will call you.’ If I give him my number, I’m just one of the women he calls.”

In an interview with Fox News, Melania explained that she and Donald had their first date in New Jersey after she had returned from a modeling shoot in the Caribbean. The couple drove together for an hour and a half to Bedford, New Jersey, where Donald Trump viewed a property he wanted to buy.

“So he was combining business with taking [me] on a first date. And it was very nice, because we were two of us alone in the car for an hour, hour and a half, and it’s no other noise, no other people, because at that time, he was already known and a celebrity,” Melania told Fox. “So it was really nice to be just two of us.”

Donald Trump & Melania Trump – marriage

Eventually, Donald and Melania would begin their famous relationship. The couple married in 2005 at the Bethesda-By-the-Sea Church in Palm Beach, Florida. Naturally, Donald and Melania’s marriage has always been a big talking point in the media.

Rumors about the strength of their bond have rumbled on for a decade. Like any other couple, they have endured their fair share of challenges and rough periods. Last year, with Donald involved in several legal battles, Melania took a first step to ensure that she and Barron would be covered if things went south.

According to Page Six, Melania spent 2022 renegotiating the terms of her prenuptial agreement with Donald. In November 2023, the source said her new “postnup” was in place. The news outlet reported that Melania wanted the new deal because she was worried about how much money would be left for her and Barron after legal bills, damages, and possible fines were paid.

“This agreement was necessary because of the current legal battles.[Donald] has suffered,” a source told Page Six, adding that the renegotiated prenup will “provide a more solid future” for Melania and Barron if the couple were to go separate ways.

“It’s not that she threatened to leave him. It’s definitely the underlying idea.”

A person familiar with the renegotiated prenup told Page Six that Melania wanted the deal to provide her with money and property. It included cash, where there is a “specific amount at minimum that Barron is supposed to obtain.”

Moreover, another source told the news outlet: “This is at least the third time Melania has renegotiated the terms of her martial agreement.”

“I don’t always agree what my husband is saying or doing”

In typical fashion, Donald managed to weather a storm of major legal trouble, before last fall winning the 2024 Presidential Election. Melania was at first reluctant to return to the White House, but in 2024, she changed her stance, saying she would be interested in a second term as First Lady. However, one body language expert claimed that she wasn’t exactly radiating happiness after her husband had won.

It’s said that Donald and Melania had their fair share of arguments when they lived at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue the first time around. Not long ago, the Slovenian-born model decided to reveal new details about her marriage to Donald.

In January, Melania appeared on Fox & Friends to give some insight into her and Donald’s union and what to expect when they enter the White House for a second time.

“Maybe some people they see me as just the wife of the president, but I’m standing on my own to fit, independent. I have my own thoughts, I have my own yes and no. I don’t always agree what my husband is saying or doing, and that’s okay,” Melania added.

New book claims Melania Trump “hates” her husband

Donald and Melania don’t often speak about their marriage and their feelings for each other. But now, author Michael Wolff, who has written several critical book about the president, claims in his new book All or Nothing that Melania has no feelings left for her husband.

According to excerpts from the book, Wolff claims Melania has no interest in living day to day near her husband.

“She f***ing hates him”, a “Mar-a-Lago patio confidant,” told Wolff.

Melania has previously stated that she will not be living at the White House full-time during her second term as First Lady. Instead, she will split her time between Washington, New York – where she will spend time with her son, Barron – and Palm Beach, Florida where the Trumps lived at their Mar-a-Lago estate after their first White House exit.

In All or Nothing, Wolff wrote more about Donald and Melania’s marriage. In one extract of the book, Wolff described how Melania reportedly laughed at her husband’s presidential campaign’s effort “to get her to accompany her husband,” on the trail. She wasn’t seen on the campaign trail one single time, except for in the last months.

“Since the first indictment in New York, when Melania had simply laughed at the campaign’s effort to get her to accompany her husband (‘Nice try’), it had been clear that she wasn’t going to show up. During the past year, she had yet to make a single campaign appearance. In only one instance in 2023 did she even appear on the plane—and then only hitching a ride. Magically, the Melania issue had not, in the White House years nor the Mar-a-Lago years—with both staffers and press quite aware of the Trumps’ nontraditional living arrangements and their careful distance from each other— become an issue,” Wollf wrote.

Michael Wolff claims Melania Trump and Donald “spend very little time together”

“Melania continued to be an additional freak-out, absolutely refusing every entreaty to speak or even to appear side by side with her husband. He had never faced point-blank questions from the media about their relationship. But what if ‘Where’s Melania?’ started now in earnest?” he continued.

“But that was all before the shooting…now the attempt on Trump’s life not only made him again incontrovertibly the central figure of the moment, if not the age, giving him a maximum hero’s electoral mantle, but it also repositioned his convention as the joyous and abject coronation of which he dreamed.”

So how much distance does Melania allegedly want to keep from her husband? According to Micahel Wolff, Trump’s campaign staff “didn’t even know where Melania lived.”

When appearing on the Daily Beast’s podcast, Wolff explained: “She doesn’t live with him. They spend very little time together. Whenever she was at the White House or at Mar-a-Lago it’s like she’s a guest. She basically lives in Trump Tower now.”

Wolff concluded by saying that at the Republican National Convention, Melania “would not sit next to him … Her one appearance on the last day was contingent on him not being in the VIP box”.

White House strikes back

Of course, not everyone agrees with Wolff’s claims in All or Nothing. Donald Trump himself has previously threatened to sue authors, the media, and other publishers for using anonymous sources.

Neither the president nor Melania have commented on Wolff’s claims. However, Steven Cheung, White House communications director, was clear on what he thought about the author.

“Michael Wolff is a lying sack of s*** and has been proven to be a fraud. He routinely fabricates stories originating from his sick and warped imagination, only possible because he has a severe and debilitating case of Trump Derangement Syndrome that has rotted his peanut-sized brain,” Cheung told Newsweek.
