Michael J Fox shares rare picture of youngest daughter, Esmé
While the disease changed his life forever, Michael J. Fox has had overwhelming support from his family. He and his wife, Tracy Pollan, have three daughters and one son. The youngest of the bunch, daughter Esmé, was born in November 2001. In 2013, Fox spoke about her, saying how much she is like him.
“My littlest one, Esmé, is the most like me. She’s always reading a book, editing a movie on her computer, or dressing up; when we go on vacation, she writes a book about what she has seen,” he told Good Housekeeping, per ABC. “She’s got that curiosity and that joy that I had, in spite of some of the things I’ve had to deal with. And I still have that now. “
Michael J. Fox is not the one sharing pictures of his children all the time, and the same goes for Esme. On November 3 last year, when celebrating his daughter’s 23rd birthday, he posted some pictures of her alongside the caption, “Esme, Happy birthday to our renaissance gal. You do it all. Your Dood loves you very much..Who doesn’t? Keep living your best life.”
Now, the Back to the Future star has shared a new picture of his youngest daughter. Esmé. On November 3rd, she ran the New York Marathon, and her family, including Michael, was there to support her.
In an Instagram post, Michael J. Fox shared the moment Esmé saw her family along the streets as she ran the marathon and approached them with a big smile.
“Esme…then…and now- you did it! You are amazing, congratulations! Your dood is very proud, oh yea, and happy birthday!” Fox wrote in the caption to the pictures posted on Instagram.
“One day I’ll run out of gas”
It’s impossible to project Michael J. Fox’s future and how long he will be around. Still, in 2023, he explained to Town & Country that he doesn’t “fear” death as his Parkinson’s battle continues.
“One day I’ll run out of gas. One day, I’ll just say, ‘It’s not going to happen. I’m not going out today.’ If that comes, I’ll allow myself that. I’m 62 years old,” the beloved actor said. “Certainly, if I were to pass away tomorrow, it would be premature, but it wouldn’t be unheard of. And so, no, I don’t fear that,” he added.
