Prince Harry accused of ‘cardinal sin’, King Charles leaves calls ‘unanswered’

A close friend of Prince Harry says King Charles is ignoring his son, who is reportedly desperate to speak with his father.

But Harry, described as a “thorn on the king’s side,” committed a “cardinal sin.”

And now, his “genuine concerns” for the safety of his family is being overlooked by the king, who’s leaving calls from his youngest son “unanswered.” Keep reading to learn why the king is ignoring Harry!

Since Prince Harry’s tell-all memoir “Spare” was released in 2023, his relationship with the royal family has become more volatile.

In February 2024, there was a glimmer of hope when the Duke of Sussex visited King Charles after he was diagnosed with cancer.

“Look, I love my family. The fact that I was able to get on a plane and go and see him and spend any time with him, I’m grateful for that,” Harry told Good Morning America of his visit.

But in May, when Harry, 39, returned to the U.K. for the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games, his dad wasn’t there, and a spokesperson excused the king’s absence on a “full schedule.”

But sources suggest it goes deeper than a packed calendar.

‘Genuine concerns’

Recently speaking with Tabloids on Trial – an ITV documentary about efforts to sue British media companies, specifically Mirror Group Newspapers – Harry said that due to previous threats in the U.K, he fears for the safety of Meghan Markle and kids, Archie and Lilibet.

“It’s still dangerous, and all it takes is one lone actor, one person who reads this stuff to act on what they have read,” Harry said. “And whether it’s a knife or acid, these are things that are genuine concerns for me. It’s one of the reasons why I won’t bring my wife back to this country.”

Revoked security

After the Sussexes stepped back from their roles as working royals in 2020, the Executive Committee for the Protection of Royalty and Public Figures (RAVEC) revoked their right to U.K. police security.

Despite offering to cover the costs of security himself, a high court judge denied his request.

“The U.K. is my home. The U.K. is central to the heritage of my children and a place I want them to feel at home as much as where they live at the moment in the United States,” Harry said in a statement. “That cannot happen if there is no possibility to keep them safe when they are on U.K. soil.”

“I can’t put my wife in danger like that, and given my experiences in life, I’m reluctant to unnecessarily put myself in harm’s way too,” he added.

‘Unavailable’

And the only person Harry believes can reinstate his security detail in the U.K. is King Charles.

“Harry is frightened and feels the only person who can do anything about it is his father,” a royal insider said. But, according to People, the idea that his father has any impact on his security is “wholly inaccurate.”

Desperately trying to speak with his father to influence the security process, a friend of Prince Harry claims that anytime he calls, “He gets ‘unavailable right now.’”

“His calls go unanswered. He has tried to reach out about the king’s health, but those calls go unanswered too.”

‘Gratuitous potshots’

And his father’s silence is a painful reminder of the “cardinal sin” he committed, says a royal expert.

Shedding some light on the situation, royal insider Christopher Andersen says the king is less than impressed that his son, in “Spare,” describes his Queen Camilla as “wicked.”

“When Harry branded his stepmother Camilla a ‘villain’ in his book and revealed that both he and William initially begged their father not to marry her, Harry committed what Charles regards as a cardinal sin,” Andersen says. “No one disses Camilla in royal circles and gets away with it, not even a son of the king.”

“I think Charles could forgive Harry for some of the trouble he’s caused, including bailing on the monarchy, slamming his brother William for bullying behavior and suing for royal protection when visiting the U.K.,” Andersen continued. “But Charles is having a hard time forgiving Harry for taking what he sees as gratuitous potshots at his beloved Queen Camilla.”

‘Swords down’

Meanwhile, the prince’s friend says that if security is resolved, “it’s ‘swords down.’”

Nothing “would give [Harry] more happiness than being able to rekindle his bond with his father.” the unnamed friend continues, “At the end of the day, you can’t undo bloodlines. He’s not asking his dad for a nicer house or nicer cars. He’s asking because of the reality of the situation. He is at risk.”

But suggesting that Harry’s memoir and candid interviews with the media have compromised the family’s trust, Andersen adds, “This still remains a thorn on the king’s side.”
