Prince Harry “regrets” leaving the Royal Family in new bombshell claim

Prince Harry is back in the US following his grandfather’s funeral, preparing alongside wife Meghan for the birth of their second child. At the same time, the couple are trying to start their own civilian careers and move on from the shocking Oprah interview which shattered their relationship with the British Royal Family.

Harry’s brother William and father Charles aren’t happy about his actions, neither in leaving the Royal Family or speaking so candidly in the Oprah interview.

Now, a royal expert claims that Harry might be beginning to regret it all, including leaving the Royal Family with his wife.

From the outside, life as a royal might seem simple. By contrast, leaving Buckingham Palace to begin a new life is a whole different story.

Meghan Markle & Harry

Meghan Markle and Harry wanted out, and decided to leave their senior roles within the Royal Family last year. This in itself sparked a great deal of controversy, not the least where the family were concerned.

However, things got even worse when Harry and Meghan decided to speak out in their primetime interview with Oprah Winfrey.

Not only did Harry and Meghan speak freely about what had been going on behind closed doors within the Royal Family, but they also made allegations of racism, with an unknown person purportedly raising concerns about the color of their then-unborn son Archie’s skin.

Needless to say, the fallout was catastrophic to the image of the royals, and Harry and Meghan quite probably burned any bridges yet remaining between themselves and “The Firm”.

Perhaps the most talked about issue has been the break down of relations between Harry and his older brother, William.

Icy relationship with William

The two princes have been the best of friends for their entire lives, and captured the hearts of the world when they walked side by side as young boys at the funeral of their much-loved mother, Princess Diana.

Sadly, Harry’s relationship with his brother was reportedly heavily damaged after the claims made in the sit down with Oprah – the two had barely spoken before Harry arrived back in the UK for Philip’s funeral.

Right after they left St. George’s Chapel, pictures showed Harry and William talking to each other, offering the idea that there is perhaps a glimpse of hope that their bond will prevail.

But the talks following the funeral didn’t seem to go as well as anyone had hoped. At least not for Harry’s father Charles and brother William.

According to Radar Online, Charles and William approached Harry for a two-hour sit down. But instead of Harry being happy about it, he felt “ambushed”, and was left ultimately “outraged” about the meeting.

Prince Charles angry with Harry

“The meeting after the family laid Prince Philip to rest was not scheduled. Harry felt ambushed by his dad and brother which is no way to start a peace process,” a source told Radar Online.

The same source says that William and Harry had some contact before the funeral, though it was more “texts than calls,” and their first attempt at patching up their relationship ended in failure.

Another family member that doesn’t seem to be too impressed by Harry and Meghan’s actions is Prince Charles. He hasn’t spoken publicly about the allegations made by Meghan and Harry in the interview, but according to Entertainment Tonight royal correspondent Katie Nicholl, he wanted to respond to the allegations “point by point.”

Instead, it was decided that a shorter statement would be better.

“My understanding is that Prince Charles did want to issue a more detailed statement to the Oprah interview and possibly address some of those issues point by point,” Nicholl said, as quoted by Fox.

Harry and Meghan to be “ditched”?

US weekly’s royal expert Christina Garibaldi claimed that it was Charles rather than the Queen that took charge in responding to the allegations. She also said that Charles was very angry with his son Harry.

“I feel that when Charles saw this interview, he was probably really angry about it,” she said. “Maybe he’s just kind of on the defense.”

As per reports, a senior royal insider claims that Charles and his two sons met on Saturday following the funeral of Prince Philip. Even so, according to royal expert Angela Levin, Charles won’t be taking Harry’s side at all.

According to her, Charles is planning to “ditch” Meghan and Harry from the Royal Family once he becomes the king.

“Prince Charles has wanted for a very long time to cut the monarchy down to save costs and to make people be worth the money that they got from the taxpayer,” Levin said on TalkRADIO, as quoted by the Express.

“I imagine that might be when Harry and Meghan are ditched from being members of the Royal family.”

Harry ‘regret’ doing interview

Harry and Meghan took a leap of faith in choosing a civilian career. It was a choice not only for themselves, but for their children and the future generations of their family.

With their second child expected this summer, Harry and Meghan will probably want to settle down and find some measure of peace. According to an Express source, however, things won’t be the same for quite a while. At least not for Meghan.

Royal expert Paul Burrell says Harry feels “totally torn” about he and his wife’s decision to step down from their roles within the Royal Family and move to the US.

“His heart is on two different sides of the Atlantic now,” Burrel told Closer. “Meghan will be faced with that dilemma – the bombshell that Harry now feels split in two.”

Paul Burrell has known Harry since he was only a couple of years old, as he worked as a butler for Princess Diana for 10 years. Harry being back in the UK will undoubtedly have stirred up many emotions, he claims.

Meghan to figure out their future

“Being back in the UK, seeing his family – the family he has criticized – is extremely difficult,” Burrell said.

“Seeing his beloved granny, the Queen, and to face his father and brother would not be easy. Even submerging himself back into the House of Windsor and the buildings that hold so many memories.”

While in the UK, Harry stayed at Frogmore Cottage, the house where he and Meghan previously lived before departing from the Royal Family.

Now, with Harry back in the US, the couple have a big test ahead of them. And according to Burrell, Meghan will have to take on a huge chunk of responsibility.

“She will have to figure out what their next steps will be. Those two – from different worlds – are going to have to work it out to align themselves,” he told Closer.

Even though things are tense, Meghan and Harry are happy to be together again following Philip’s funeral. According to US Weekly, Meghan is ‘over the moon’ to have Harry back home in their Montecito house, about 90 minutes north of Los Angeles.

Harry ‘more confused than ever’

But there are more insiders who think that Harry might feel torn indeed following his return to the UK. In an interview with Closer, royal insider Duncan Larcome claimed that Harry is actually feeling “more confused than ever” after reuniting with his wife Meghan and son Archie.

“I’ve heard Harry was feeling numb heading back to LA. You could see in his face at the funeral that he was torn,” Larcome said. “He didn’t think he’d have to face his family so soon – and when he did, he had mixed emotions.”

According to Larcome, talks with his father Charles and brother William will have changed Harry’s mindset.

“Coming home has reminded him of everything he’s sacrificed in recent years – and of the recent damage done”, he said, calling Harry a “hot-headed guy”.

Moving forward, Harry was set to return to the UK again to unveil a statue of his mother, Princess Diana, this summer. However, according to Russell Myers, royal editor at the Daily Mirror, it’s unclear if Harry will be there for the ceremony at all.

Reunion with William this summer

In fact, he may well use the birth of his second child as a “convenient excuse” not to travel.

“His intention is to come back. One may wonder, if his wife has just had a baby, I’m sure he could jump on a private jet and made a flying visit. But, will it be a convenient excuse so he doesn’t have to come back and face the family?” he added.

Further, Myers claims that Harry will decide in the coming weeks whether he’ll be a part of the unveiling of his mother’s statue or not.

“I think a lot will determine what happens in the interim period. Some quarters of the family did give him a frosty reception and perhaps that did shock him somewhat.”

“I don’t think we will realize the fallout of that Oprah Winfrey interview for some time,” he added. “Maybe once we get back to a bit of normality, the rest of the family will start thinking about that a bit more carefully. It might not be good news for Harry.”

Regret leaving the Royal Family?

The Oprah Winfrey interview changed everything for Meghan and Harry. They now have to rebuild confidence and a friendly relationship with pretty much all of Buckingham Palace. Doing so while living on the other side of the Atlantic might be tough.

Royal insider Duncan Larcome further claims that Harry is very nostalgic for his old life. Meghan, though, is planning for their future. Soon, they will have two children, as well as new jobs. According to Larcome, Harry is now in regret over being a part of the Oprah interview in the first place.

In fact, Harry might also regret his decision to quit the Royal Family, Larcome says.

“Harry was clearly hurt and angry about Meghan’s experience with the royals – and used the interview to get it out. But after returning home, I’ve no doubt he’s been feeling embarrassed, regretful and awkward,” he told Closer.

With Meghan preparing for the birth of their second child, Harry will be taking on more and more responsibility at home.

Preparing for birth of second child

The Prince can now put all his focus on his immediate family, and for the moment at least, not have to worry about the monarchy.

“Harry is helping out around the house,” an insider told US Weekly. “He’s always such a supportive partner, but when Meghan is pregnant, Harry takes on the brunt of physical responsibilities, cooking for her and making her comfortable.”

Their firstborn son, Archie, was welcomed by his parents in May of 2019. Last week, he was spotted with Meghan as they made their way up a Los Angeles street.

Soon, he will be a big brother. According to US Weekly, he couldn’t be happier about it.

“[Archie] knows he’ll be a big brother soon and is very excited to help,” the insider said.

What do you think will happen to Meghan and Harry? Do you think their relationship with Buckingham will get better or not?
