Queen Elizabeth’s cousin Princess Olga says Harry and Meghan should “sit down and shut up”

It has been over two months since Meghan Markle and Prince Harry gave their explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey but it seems the dust still hasn’t settled on this bleak moment in time for the Royal Family.

The shocking revelations that came from the two-hour sit down state side included racist allegations, a lack of support from the Royal family when Meghan was having suicidal thoughts, a refusal to give Archie a title and security issues when the couple were in Canada.

The couple’s interview appeared to divide the world on whether they should have given such a damaging talk not to mention the validity of their claims.

Meanwhile, many came out in support of Meghan applauding her bravery in speaking out against a 1,000-year-old white powerful institution. Her comments prompted some much-needed discussions in the U.K on racism.

But in a recent interview Queen Elizabeth’s cousin Princess Olga has come to the royal family’s defense saying members of this institution should “sit down and shut up.”

It wasn’t the first time a royal had sat down with Oprah Winfrey and complained of poor treatment. Following her split with Prince Andrew, Sarah Ferguson sat down with Oprah Winfrey in 1996 and admitted that royal life was “no fairytale.”

But the now 61-year-old’s complaints of too many rules and the struggles she had adjusting to royal life was nothing compared to what Meghan revealed.

While standing in the chicken coop in the backyard of their $15 million home in Montecito, California, Meghan even revealed the wedding we all watched in 2018 wasn’t their real wedding.

This very private detail that Meghan revealed was later disputed by the Archbishop of Canterbury, who married the couple, when he said he would have been “committing a serious crime” if he had signed the marriage certificate on the actual day, knowing it was false.

However, he did say he had met the couple “in a private and pastoral setting” beforehand, as per BBC News.

The allegation of racism will forever haunt the Royal family who issued a statement the day after the interview aired in the U.K. to say: “The whole family is saddened to learn the full extent of how challenging the last few years have been for Harry and Meghan.

“The issues raised, particularly that of race, are concerning. While some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately.

“Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much loved family members.”

Harry’s older brother Prince William even broke with protocol to say to reporters outside a school in London that his family were not racist.

One month after the couple gave the interview Prince Philip passed away and Harry returned to the U.K. while not only grieving for the man that had been a huge support to him and his brother after their mother died, but also to face the wrath of his family following his damaging interview.

In a recent interview with U.K. morning show host Lorraine Kelly the Queen’s cousin Princess Olga Romanoff said she admired the Queen for never complaining or explaining.

In light of the Meghan and Harry interview Lorraine asked the princess what she thought about royals giving interviews.

Lorraine asked: “Do you think that is the way ahead to modernize the Royal Family or do you just think people should shh?”

To which Olga replied: “I was told to sit down and shut up and never wash your dirty linen in public, whatever it happens to be.

“So I think the Queen does it right.”

The Russian Princess, who has lived in the U.K. all her life, is the granddaughter of King George V’s cousin, which makes her the Queen’s third cousin. She is also related to Prince Philip through her Danish great-great-grandfather.

The 71-year-old was also asked if there was a fairytale story connected to royalty to which she answers: “Yes and no.

“It all depends how many times they tell you about their problems on television. Which I’m afraid I’m not very keen on.”

Princess Olga said her view of the Sussexes was “not great” before adding: “The Queen has never sat there and said about anything that makes her miserable, has she. She’s always got on with it.”
