Everyone recognizes Brad Pitt, but have you heard about his sister?
She’s stayed out of the spotlight, but her story is very fascinating.
You won’t believe what she’s accomplished!
Actor Brad Pitt isn’t the only star in his family — he has two siblings, each carving out impressive careers in their own right. The trio is known for their close bond, and while Brad may be the household name, his siblings have their own stories to tell.
Take his younger brother, Doug Pitt, for example. A proud lifelong resident of Springfield, Missouri, Doug has built a legacy as a successful business mogul across various industries.
But today, we’re shining the spotlight on someone else — Brad Pitt’s sister. Curious? Scroll down to discover her fascinating story!
Julie Pitt Neal husband
Julie Pitt Neal, born in 1969, is the youngest of the Pitt siblings and has built her life around faith, family, and compassion.
While her older brothers have often taken center stage in the public eye, Julie has chosen a quieter, more grounded path. First and foremost, she sees herself as a “lover of Jesus.” After that, she proudly identifies as a “wife” and the “mother of five amazing kids.”
Julie’s story is one of devotion and making a difference behind the scenes — a stark yet inspiring contrast to the Hollywood spotlight.
Brad Pitt’s sister has been happily married to her husband, Rob, for over 30 years, and together they’ve built a beautiful family. They started with their son Caleb and twin daughters Josie and Rylie, then opened their hearts even further by adopting their sons, Caden and Cruz, from Ethiopia.
Julie Pitt children
According to Julie Pitt Neal, God lead her to adopt. It was also during this time that her journey into philanthropy truly began, especially when she and Rob adopted their fourth child, Caden, from Ethiopia.
Julie’s sheltered life changed dramatically after adoption.
“Honestly, I lived in a bubble here in our town with my three older kids, and I really didn’t think about much beyond here, and God just called my family to adopt,” Julie told WorldServe International. “We have the space, the love … all of our kids were on board.”
Caden was just six months old and dealing with health issues when he joined their family, leaving a lasting impact on their lives. This transformative experience inspired the Neals to return to Ethiopia, where they adopted their youngest son, Cruz.
Julie’s bond with Ethiopia grew stronger as she saw the challenges many families faced, especially the lack of access to clean water. Guided by her faith and a desire to make a difference, she joined forces with WorldServe International, a nonprofit dedicated to providing clean water solutions to communities in need.
Worked as a preschool teacher
The proud mama bear has shared her experience of raising non-biological children, admitting that it hasn’t always been easy — but not for the reasons most people might assume.
In an Instagram post, Julie wrote, ”When we chose to adopt, we knew there would be challenges, especially racial ones. But what I didn’t expect was how differently I would have to parent our boys because of the color of their skin. It’s so wrong on so many levels.”
Over the years, Julie has worked as a preschool teacher and been a dedicated stay-at-home mom. According to Daily Mail, Brad Pitt’s sister has also served as the director of the charity I Pour Life, overseeing the 10×10 initiative in the impoverished town of Korah.
This program supports ten women, many of whom are living with diseases like HIV and leprosy, by teaching them valuable trades to help them achieve financial independence.
Sunday church services
While it was never formally stated, Doug Pitt naturally became the go-to person when it came to handling matters involving their famous brother. It made perfect sense for Doug to take on the role of family spokesperson, as he was skilled at managing the public’s curiosity, thanks to his own time in the spotlight.
As Julie puts it, she’s always preferred to fly a little under the radar. She lives a simple, down-to-earth life, filled with coffee, Sunday church services, and raising five kids, all while being the sister of the famous Brad Pitt.
Brad’s parents have also kept a low profile when it comes to discussing their son’s private life, which is partly why many people don’t realize that Brad and Doug have a sister. As Julie shared with The Springfield News-Leader in 2004:
“I get that all the time. Most people think Brad is the youngest of two,” Julie said with a smile. “But I’m the baby. Everyone thinks Brad is, but I’m the baby, by golly.”
As the family has said before, “Nothing prepares you for being related to a superstar.” There’s no how-to book for it, and no one to turn to for advice. You just learn as you go, making mistakes along the way. When the national media and fans started showing up on their doorstep in Springfield, the Pitt family made the decision to move to new homes and tighten their circle.
Where does Julie Pitt live?
For the family’s safety, their father, Bill Pitt, developed the Timberbrook subdivision in south Springfield about 20 years ago, with 40 gated homes. It’s where Doug and his wife, Julie and her husband Rob, and Bill and Jane all live.
Though Brad does not appear on Julie’s social media, it’s believed that they are close-knit, acknowledging each other’s birthdays and making time to connect during the holidays, just like any other family. The big difference? Brad Pitt is one of the world’s most famous actors, making family life a little more unique.
If you want to keep up with Julie’s life, you can follow her on social media. Her Instagram is filled with heartfelt posts about her children and their milestones.
“These people are my world. My greatest title is ‘mom’ to these beautiful souls and daughter to one of the greatest humans ever! I thank God for blessing me with the best,” she shared on Instagram in 2021.
Julie Pitt Neal’s story is one of humility, faith, and dedication to her family and community. While the world may know her famous brother, Brad Pitt, Julie has quietly built a life centered around love, compassion, and making a real difference.
By sharing her journey, we get a glimpse of the power of kindness and the lasting impact one person can have on the lives of others!
