College football team saves woman dangling from the side of a cliff in Utah

Sometimes you’re in the right place at the right time. Thankfully for one woman, an entire college football team showed up at the perfect moment.

On August 7, the Dixie State University football team had a meeting at Dixie Rock in St. George, Utah.

“Every year I take the team up to Dixie Rock. It has a great view of the city,” Paul Peterson, the team’s head coach, told FOX 13. “I like telling my guys to look out to see what they represent.”

While there they encountered a man who said there was a woman hanging off the side of the cliff, and she was in trouble.

“It was scary for a minute,” Deven Osborne, a senior wide receiver on the team, said. “We got up there, we seen a lady off the side of the cliff hanging and her hair was stuck to the rope. We were like, ‘what’s going on?’”

Somehow the woman had gotten her hair stuck while rappelling.

The group of young men quickly jumped into action and helped pull her to safety.

“It made me feel humbled. I was really blessed to see her come up that rope,” freshman safety Kyle Floyd said. “You don’t know what might happen in even a second.”

Once the woman was safe, she asked for water – they believe she was stuck for 45 minutes before they had arrived – and they she started joking with the team.

“God put us in the right place, at the right time,” Osborne said.

Thank you to these brave young men for saving this woman!
