Here’s a story sure to brighten your day: a police officer was called to remove a young man off an area — but after he learned his story, it led to an incredible act of kindness.
According to a Facebook post from the City of Hapeville Police Department, in Georgia, Officer Colleran responded to a call from someone who wanted a young man “removed from the area.”
But Colleran arrived on the scene and realized that the youth was not making trouble — far from it. He was there looking to do some yard work, like pulling weeds or cutting grass, so he could save money to by a PlayStation.
“The young man was polite, respectful and truthful,” the department’s post reads. “Officer Colleran, a gamer himself, was impressed with the young man and thought he would help him reach his goal.”
Some time later, Officer Colleran paid the boy a visit. He brought him to the trunk of his car, and opened it for a huge surprise: it was a new PlayStation 5!

Officer Colleran and his friends put their money together to buy the young man the gaming system he had been saving up for. They also got him a gift card for an online subscription, and Colleran said he would play online with him.
The story warmed hearts online, with many thanking the officer for taking the time to instill such positive lessons, and for showing such empathy for the young man.
