It’s not every day someone turns 106 years old. So, when someone reaches that milestone we often look to them for advice.
How did you do it?
For Ruth Hilliard, her secret is simple, and it doesn’t require much effort. All you have to do is believe.
On June 5, Ruth Hilliard, a North Carolina resident, turned 106 years old.
She grew up in a time where technology didn’t rule everyone’s lives and things we take for granted now like ballpoint pens and Band-Aids were only just being introduced to the world.
Although she’s been retired for quite some time, there’s still an important lesson we can all learn from Ruth, a former teacher who taught in both schools and church, according to ABC 11.
Keep faith in God.
The centenarian believes it’s because of her faith in a higher power that she’s been able to live so long.
She also says that she’s been given 106 years of life to experience the importance of her favorite scripture, Psalms 91:15-16.
“He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.”

We all need to have more than a little faith in God.
