At 76, Glenn Close shocks fans with bruised face new selfie – actress says she’s “Feeling as beautiful as ever”

Hollywood legend Glenn Close sent her legions of fans into a frenzy after uploading a series of no-makeup photos and announcing that she felt as “beautiful as ever”.

Now 76, Close has enjoyed a long and storied career that has included memorable roles in hit films such as 101 Dalmatians and Fatal Attraction.

Yet any and all glossy filters were removed when she uploaded a candid set of pictures to her Instagram, drawing attention to the fact that she was sporting two bruises either side of her nose.

The iconic actress addressed said bruises in her caption, explaining that they were the result of having a broken nose fixed.

“I think this is going to be a particularly GOOD day,” she wrote.

“(Ignore the bruises. I had a tiny break in my nose fixed) Feeling as beautiful as ever.

Needless to say, Close’s post caused quite the stir, if not only because without first reading the caption it presents a striking image indeed.

One Instagram user wrote: “I just LOVE the way you are able to laugh at yourself Glenn.”

Another added: “YOU LOOK INCREDIBLE minus the bruising‼️‼️‼️ YOUR TRANSPARENCY IS OVERWHELMINGLY REFRESHING‼️‼️‼️ KUDOS AND STANDING APPLAUSE FOR YOU.”

A third said: “I believe that all actors should take a course, “Aging: The Glenn Close Method.”

i thought “now, what is she up to?” with the bruises,” said a fourth.

Glenn is currently starring in the new Apple TV+ series The New Look, which also features the likes of Game of Thrones star Maisie Williams and John Malkovich.

Speaking on why she chose to be a part of the drama, she explained she wanted to work with executive producer Todd A Kessler.

“The truth is, I would do anything for [Todd] after experiencing his brilliance as a writer/director/collaborator on Damages,” she revealed to Harper’s Bazaar last year.

“I was thrilled when he asked me to step into the daunting shoes of Carmel Snow in The New Look, and only hope I do justice to one of the truly iconic, game-changing figures in the history of fashion.”
