Hugh Jackman confirms results of cancer tests in new update

Hugh Jackman has taken to social media to offer fans an update after revealing earlier this week that he was once again undergoing tests for skin cancer.

The 54-year-old has had numerous brushes with the disease in the past, having first been diagnosed with skin cancer in 2013. On Tuesday, we reported that the actor had experienced something of a scare as he confirmed he had undergone two biopsies and was awaiting test results.

The Wolverine star, seen wearing a bandage on his nose in his Instagram post, said doctors had noticed “little things which could be, or could not be basal cell [carcinomas]”.

In his post, Jackman told his fans that the cancer is the “least dangerous”, but reminded them to always take the necessary precautions where the sun is involved.

“Please wear sunscreen, it is just not worth it, no matter how much you want a tan. Trust me!” he said.

“This is all stuff that happened 25 years ago and it’s coming out now. Put some sunscreen on and you’ll still have an incredible time out there. Please be safe.”

Jackman took to Instagram again yesterday to talk about his recent scare, offering a positive update that will have fans everywhere breathing a sigh of relief.

On his Instagram Stories, he wrote: “MY BIOPSIES CAME BACK NEGATIVE!!!

“Thank you ALL for the love. I feel it! And to the media for helping get this very important message out.

“PLEASE REMEMBER TO WEAR SUNSCREEN WITH A HIGH LEVEL OF SPF (NO MATTER THE SEASON). Love. HJ.”

Speaking back in 2021, Jackman, who was nominated for a BAFTA in 2012, admitted that his struggles with cancer have led to a number of procedures.

“It’s certainly not my first, I’ve had five or six of them now,” he explained.

“It’s pretty common when you have English parents and they take you over to Australia and you play cricket out in the sun.”

As per the NHS, basal cell carcinoma usually appears as a small, shiny pink or pearly-white lump with a translucent or waxy appearance. The lump slowly gets bigger and may become crusty, bleed or develop into a painless ulcer.

I for one am so happy that Hugh Jackman has been given the all clear! He’s one of my favorite actors and an incredibly kind human being to boot.

If you’re a fan of Jackman and any of his works, share this article on Facebook to wish him well.

Meanwhile, do your best to remind others to respect the sun and always wear sunscreen when exposed to its rays.
