An Italian exchange student studying in the United States is the focus of videos for one TikTok creator. In the latest video, a popular American restaurant chain is featured, known for serving Italian food.

A video where an Italian exchange student is taken to an Olive Garden by his host family is going viral. In the video, the student is initially seen objecting before finally relenting to the request to visit the restaurant.
The student, who, according to his TikTok account, is named Alessandro, is asked sweetly asked by Rhonda to step out of the car when they stop outside of an Olive Garden. Rhonda is the matriarch of the family, hosting Alessandro, and is featured in most videos about him. The student, whose TikTok account suggests his name is Alessandro, was coaxed out of his car by Rhonda, the American lady hosting him, outside Olive Garden.
“Today’s your lucky day,” she says as Alessandro, who is reluctant to try Olive Garden and asked to eat elsewhere, also says that the place seems inauthentic, saying, “All you have that’s Italian is the name.”
Rhonda, however, insists, and in the next scene, Alessandro is seated at the restaurant. He makes sure to tell the camera, “this is something against my will, just do you know.”
In the video, through mouthfuls, a young boy is saying he feels like he is betraying Italy because, surprisingly, he is impressed by the food. One person commented in response to this, “You are not betraying Italy. Olive Garden is not Italian food. It’s American food that has some Italian inspiration.” Another person wrote, “he hates that he loves it!”
Another person validated him by adding, “Olive Garden is like Taco Bell. It’s not authentic at all but it’s sooooo good”
In the video, he finds out that the ravioli is fried which shocks him, after tasting it, he calls it “interesting.” He then tries the calamari and mozzarella sticks, claiming that both of them were “good.”
People are loving his adorable reaction, including the official account for Olive Garden on TikTok which wrote, “It’s official! Welcome to the fam, Alessandro ❤️🤭”
