Jamie Foxx has issued an update for fans promising that he’s finally starting to feel like himself again after the medical emergency that left him hospitalized for months.
Earlier this year in April the Academy Award-winning actor was suddenly rushed to hospital after suffering from a mysterious illness.
Speculation regarding the 55-year-old’s condition varied greatly in the weeks and months that followed, with certain worrying reports even suggesting that the star’s family was preparing for the worst.
Foxx, it seems, is out of the woods now however, having returned home from hospital. Last month, the actor broke his silence to offer fans an update on his recovery, insisting that he was not blind or paralyzed, contrary to rumors.
“I went through something I never thought I would go through. I know a lot of people [were] waiting or wanting to hear an update, but to be honest with you, I didn’t want you to see me like that man,’ he admitted, with tears in his eyes.
“I want you to see me laughing, having a good time, partying, cracking a joke, doing a movie, [or] a television show.
“I didn’t want you to see me with tubes running out of me and trying to figure out if I was going to make it through.”
Foxx earlier today posted on Instagram to inform fans that he was finally starting to feel like himself after the ordeal. Though the medical emergency in question remains a mystery to the general public, Foxx said he was “finally startin to feel like myself”.
The Django Unchained star posted: “You’re lookin at a man who is thankful… finally startin to feel like myself… it’s been an unexpected dark journey… but I can see the light… I’m thankful to everyone that reached out and sent well wishes and prayers… I have a lot of people to thank… u just don’t know how much it meant… I will be thanking all of you personally… and if you didn’t know… GOD IS GOOD… all day every day…“
An insider is said to have told TMZ that Foxx returned to work in July. At the time, he was said to be in “amazing shape”.
Another source told People, meanwhile, that “Jamie was putting in really long days and was spot on. It was like nothing happened. You would have never known.”
We’re happy Jamie Foxx is on the mend and beginning to feel like himself.
