Lip reader reveals what Ben Affleck said to Jennifer Lopez during viral red carpet ‘argument’

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez made headlines for the wrong reasons recently after appearing to engage in an argument on the red carpet of Mother.

Speculation has been rife since Wednesday’s event in Los Angeles, with paparazzi on hand to capture the high-profile pair in the midst of some sort of disagreement. Now, we’ll waste no time in asserting that the matter has likely been blown far out of proportion in most media outlets, but all the same a lip reader has now weighed in to reveal exactly what was being said.

According to said lip reader – who spoke with FEMAIL – Affleck and Lopez weren’t so much having any sort of fall-out as they were debating poses and positioning for their time in front of photographers.

The lip reader said that during the exchange, which went viral as soon as pictures made their way to the internet, J-Lo asked her partner if her low-cut top was “showing too much”.

Affleck reassured her that it was fine, and then leant into Lopez’s ear to say “Don’t worry, babe.”

Lopez then replied: “Come close to me.”

When their photos were taken, Dogma star Affleck told Lopez: “That’s us, done,” before leaning in to give her a kiss and asking if she was OK.

The couple’s red carpet exchange drew special attention since it came just one day after a clip of Affleck “slamming” a car door in Lopez’s face made its way to TikTok.

Labeled “miserable” online, the footage sparked rumors that the A-lister couple were at odds with one another. Said rumors were naturally only fueled by what happened at the Mother premiere a day later.

Fans may remember another incident that saw Affleck and Lopez hit the tabloids in February, when the latter appeared to tell the former to act like he was enjoying himself at the Grammy Awards.

‘”Look more friendly,” J-Lo supposedly said. “Look motivated.”

To which Affleck replied: “I might.”

Affleck later contradicted the idea that he was less than impressed at the event, insisting that he’d enjoyed himself.
