Teen mom records message, gives up baby for adoption after his dad died unexpectedly

A mother has bravely shared the last moments with her newborn son before he was adopted.

Hannah Mongie learned she was pregnant with a baby boy at the age of 18, but just days after hearing her baby’s heartbeat for the first time her boyfriend Kaden died unexpectedly in his sleep.

The teenager went from elation at the prospect of a new baby in her and her boyfriend’s life to the dark realization that she couldn’t do this alone.

So Hannah made the very brave and heartbreaking decision to place their baby for adoption.

Hannah said she kept waking up with the unrelenting feeling that her baby was supposed to be with someone else.

On March 21, 2016, Hannah delivered Tagg in Provo, Utah. She spent two days with him during which time she recorded a video with him tearfully saying goodbye and revealing just how she felt at that moment.

“I hope anyone who watches this will be able to gain a new perspective on what the birth mom goes through when she places her child for adoption,” she wrote on YouTube.

“It is the FARTHEST thing from a heartless act. It shows the definition of love. To love someone this much is to give away your happiness for them.”

She ended the video message by saying, “I just wanted to let you know that I love you and I made this decision completely out of love and if I didn’t love you I wouldn’t be in the position at all and you wouldn’t have this awesome family – I’m going to give you all the kisses I can before I sign you away to Brad and Emily. I love you Taggart Kaden Marsh. My little boy. My son. I love you so much, love your mommy Hannah.”

But this wasn’t the last time Hannah got to see her son as she had arranged an open adoption and gets to see her precious Tagg every month.

Tagg’s adoptive family live only 10 minutes away, and Hannah has not only been able to bond with Tagg, but also his adoptive mother.

“Rather than ‘giving him up’ or ‘away,’ I just adopted his entire family into mine. Including his extended family,” Hannah told KTVU.

“We just grew, and everyone loves each other as if we’ve always been family. His mom Emily is still one of my best friends in the whole world. She honestly is everything I want to be as a person and a mother. I am so grateful that Tagg led me to her and their family.”

I’m so grateful to Hannah for sharing this moving video with the world as nobody can really understand how hard it must be to give your baby up for adoption or the reasons why.

Please share so more people can see Hannah’s video.
