“My cancer diagnosis right now is on hold, as it were, and [I’m] very grateful for very good doctors and very good modern cancer treatment which has improved enormously,” the 83-year-old actor said.

“People shouldn’t be afraid of it, you know. Just go and have your cystoscopy, have your colonoscopy, have you heart checked out. Do all that, do it in time.”

The soap opera star first revealed his diagnosis in April 2023. At the time he wanted to share the news with the public to “inform people” about taking charge of their own health.

Braeden’s cancer was initially misdiagnosed.

Once he received the correct diagnosis he immediately began a course of treatment.

In August, Braeden, who has starred as Victor Newman in over 4,000 episodes of The Young and the Restless, announced he was cancer-free.

“As of three days ago, I am cancer-free,” the actor said in a Facebook Live.

After performing a cystoscopy, his doctors “couldn’t find a damn thing! Isn’t that nice?”

This is the kind of news we want to hear! We’re so happy for Eric Braeden. May he continue to have good health.
