2-year-old Texas boy shocks mom by ordering 31 cheeseburgers from her phone

It is true that kids love eating fast food but thankfully when they are young, you can pretty much control their diet.

But this Texas 2-year-old decided to take matters into his own hands. The toddler ended up placing an order of over 30 cheeseburgers!

Barrett is a 2-year-old from Kingsville, Texas. Much like other toddlers his age, his mother Kelsey Burkhalter Golden allows him to use her phone every now and then. It was a similar occasion when Barrett was using her phone.

Golden assumed that her son was probably playing a game or perhaps taking pictures. She said in an interview, “My son was playing with my phone, I thought he was taking pictures but when I looked back on my thing it was ordered at the time he was playing with my phone.”

What she discovered instead was an order on the DoorDash app. She noticed a notification from the app on her phone saying that her order would take normal than longer because of the size of the order. She got confused since she had not placed an order on the app.

But upon checking she saw that an order of 31 cheeseburgers had indeed been placed at McDonald’s from her phone.

However, Golden’s reaction was not what you would expect. Instead of being upset with her son, she decided to make lemonade out of the lemons life had handed to her.

She directly went to Facebook to post about the incident and turn the incident into a heartwarming tale.

She posted on her Facebook wall a picture of her son posing with the mountain of burgers, with the caption, “I have 31 free cheeseburgers from McDonald’s if anyone is interested. Apparently my 2 yr old knows how to order DoorDash.”

She said in an interview how in ten minutes someone who had responded to her post was coming over to get some of the cheeseburgers. She said she had no idea how many burgers the person would want.

The little boy was playing with her phone and accidentally placed the order without meaning to at all! An honest mistake that his mom forgave.

Now that the incident has already happened, Golden is not angry with her son. But nonetheless, she does intend to take preventative measures to avoid something similar occurring in the future.

“I guess I need to hide the app or something because Door Dash is not protected,” she said.

The total order costs $61.58 and somehow her son also added a generous tip for the DoorDash rider for $16. The total amount Golden ended up paying was $91.70. But perhaps the funny story she got out of the experience is priceless itself.

Barrett unknowingly helped feed a lot of people who might have been hungry otherwise. What an incredibly sweet story!
