Amber Heard shares rare photos of new life after changing her name

Years after running from Hollywood following her bitter legal battle with Johnny Depp, Amber Heard offered fans a rare glimpse of the quieter life she has built in Spain.

Life looks very different these days for 40-year-old Amber Heard, who has largely stayed out of the spotlight since her split from Depp, 63, evolved into one of Hollywood’s most public courtroom battles.

The two met while filming 2011’s The Rum Diary and spent four years together, including just over one year as husband and wife, before their breakup evolved into one of Hollywood’s most closely watched legal battles.

Their divorce took another turn when Depp sued Heard over a 2018 Washington Post essay in which she described surviving abuse without naming him. In 2022, a jury found that some of her claims were defamatory and awarded the Pirates of the Caribbean star damages.

Since then, Heard has quietly settled in Spain, where she is raising daughter Oonagh, 5, and one-year-old twins Agnes and Ocean while keeping a much lower profile.

Running to relieve stress

Long before leaving Hollywood, running had become one of Heard’s favorite ways to clear her mind.

“I like running because it’s a way for me to alleviate stress, clear my mind, and refocus,” the Aquaman star said, according to People.

“Plus, I can do it anywhere. I travel so much that it’s invaluable to me to have something that keeps me healthy and feeling good no matter where I am.”

Heard also said she never wanted health and fitness to come at the expense of enjoying life.

“If you’re not going to enjoy life, there’s no point in eating a certain way and working out and doing all the things actors do to manipulate how we look – and how the world looks at us,” she explained.

Locals in Madrid have frequently spotted Heard jogging around the city, making running a regular part of her quieter life abroad.

“First race glow’

That passion was on full display on June 21 when Heard shared a rare update with fans after completing the KLM Norte Sur 10K in Madrid.

The Texas-born woman posted a smiling photo of herself in a pink running top with matching shorts, celebrating the accomplishment with the caption: “First race glow.”

Among the photos was a tender picture showing Heard embracing Oonagh after crossing the finish line. Sharing the image on Instagram Stories, the actor summed up the moment in a few words.

“Nothing beats this feeling,” she wrote, according to People.

‘You are a warrior’

Fans quickly noticed the rare update, with many saying they were simply happy to see the actor smiling again after years spent at the center of headlines.

“Amber my frontal lobe developed and I believe you. You’re probably better off living your best life in Europe and it’s amazing to see you happy after everything you were put through,” one supporter wrote.

“One of the strongest, most beautiful women in the world,” a second shared, while a third wrote, “You are a warrior and deserve all good things.”

Another added: “The worst thing about all that happened was seeing how that relationship cost this beautiful young woman her smile. It’s good to see it coming back.”
