The brother of a pro wrestler who was brutally beaten unconscious and hospitalized with severe injuries after a sudden and violent attack in the middle of a live show has offered a saddening update.
The incident took place at the KnokX Pro Wrestling event in Los Angeles, leaving the viewing audience stunned. Footage quickly found its way online, where it’s spread around the world – largely due to the shocking nature of its content.
One of the wrestlers on the roster, Stuart Smith – better known by his ring name, Syko Stu – was in the middle of a match, when MMA fighter Raja Jackson, son of UFC icon Quinton Jackson, entered the ring, slammed him on the floor, and unleashed a barrage of punches to his face.
As per reports, Smith and Jackson had clashed prior to the event, with Smith throwing a beer can at Jackson’s head reports have suggested this was a gimmick intended to fuel a scripted conflict between the two in the show). In any case, the pair shook hands, with Jackson then told to give him “his receipt” in the ring (wrestling speak for getting his revenge).
Shocking footage captured the moment Jackson later slid into the ring with Smith’s back turned, before lifting him up on his shoulder and flipping him over his head. When Smith landed, stunned and dazed, he was unable to protect himself before Jackson mounted him and began raining blows down on his face.
The attack played out for excruciating seconds before a number of Smith’s fellow wrestlers were able to pull Jackson off and pin him in a corner of the ring.

Needless to say, Jackson’s unspeakable actions have been met with widespread condemnation. Such were the extent of Smith’s injuries that he ended up choking on his own blood and teeth. The matter is now under police investigation.
Smith’s brother Andrew recently took to Facebook to provide an update on his brother’s health, with his post implying that Smith – a former US army veteran – faces a long road to recovery.
He wrote: “Stuart is resting since he sustained severe injures to his head. He is currently conscious and able to talk but will have a difficult recovery ahead.
“With all the media and social media attention it’s been hard to get back to everyone. Stuart Smith appreciates all the love and support. He loves wrestling, his wrestling family, and all his fans and supporters. Wrestling has been a huge part of his life and he lives to put on a performance.

“He’s also just a regular guy with a life and family outside the ring. His wife Contessa has currently set up a go fund me for those wishing to donate. We appreciate all the support during this difficult time, Thank you.”
A GoFundMe page established to help Smith’s recovery has currently raised almost $60,000.
