Maine Senate candidate Graham Platner is facing fresh scrutiny after his campaign confirmed he exchanged sexually explicit messages with multiple women while married. Platner, a Democratic candidate, Marine veteran, and oyster farmer hoping to unseat longtime Republican Senator Susan Collins, reportedly disclosed the messages during an internal campaign review.

The controversy adds to previous scandals surrounding the candidate, including backlash over offensive social media posts and a tattoo linked to Nazi imagery, which Platner later covered up and said he did not fully understand when he got it. His wife, Amy Gertner, publicly defended him despite describing herself as deeply hurt by the revelations. The race has drawn national attention because Democrats see Maine as one of their strongest opportunities to flip a Republican-held Senate seat in 2026.

Donald Trump has reportedly delayed a final agreement with Iran after sending negotiators an amended version of a proposed deal, as renewed fighting in the region threatens to derail peace efforts. According to CNN, fresh clashes have raised concerns that tensions could escalate if negotiations stall.

The revisions are said to focus on strengthening Iran’s nuclear commitments and securing guarantees that the Strait of Hormuz will fully reopen to international shipping. While Trump previously suggested a deal was close, officials say disagreements remain over Iran’s enriched uranium stockpile and the sanctions relief Tehran could receive in return. The proposed agreement is viewed as a key step toward easing tensions.
