The news of Lisa Marie Presley’s death shocked millions of people around the world. The entire scenario of her demise played out incredibly fast.
The news of her hospital admission hit the media and right after it was made known that she has passed. Now details about what happened at the hospital are coming to light.
Lisa Marie Presley had the distinct honor of being born to perhaps one of the most famous men on earth. Every moment of her life ever since she was born has been well documented.
But she had a turbulent life as a young child with her parents separating when she was incredibly young to losing her father at just 9 years old when he was just 42 on August 16, 1977.
Being the only heir to the Presley name from her father, she had a lot of pressure on her to preserve his legacy. Along with her mother, she spent her entire life preserving her father’s name and estate to make sure his legacy lives on eternally.
She also followed in her father’s footsteps and delved into a musical career as well. She even sang a ‘duet’ with her father thanks to modern technology allowing her to do so with old recordings of his. The songs reached millions and touched the hearts of Elvis fans worldwide.
In 2022, Lisa Marie Presley began making headlines again because of the Elvis Presley biopic starring Austin Butler. The movie broke records and had close involvement from the Presley family.
Just a few days before her passing Lisa Marie Presley witnessed Austin Butler win the Golden Globe for his role in the film. She gushed about the young actor on the red carpet saying she thought he did a magnificent job in portraying her father and that the movie touched her deeply.
Austin equally returned her admiration, even thanking her in his acceptance speech. He said “I also want to thank our incredible producers and Warner Bros and the Presley family, thank you guys, thank you for opening your hearts, your memories, your home to me. Lisa Marie, Priscilla, I love you forever, said the actor at the gala”, according to the Daily Mail.
On the evening of January 12, Lisa Marie Presley was found unconscious in her bedroom by her housekeeper. She was soon rushed to a hospital, which was confirmed in a statement by her mother Priscilla Presley who requested everyone to pray for her daughter’s recovery.

“My beloved daughter Lisa Marie was rushed to the hospital. She is now receiving the best care. Please keep her and our family in your prayers. We feel your prayers and ask that our privacy be respected,” she wrote on her Instagram.
But unfortunately, just hours later Lisa Marie Presley passed away. “It is with a heavy heart that I have to share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us,” her mother said.
“She was the most passionately strong and loving woman I have ever known,” she added.
According to new details now emerging, when Lisa Marie arrived at the hospital she was declared brain dead and doctors put her in a medically induced coma. The family then had a difficult decision to make.
They decided to sign a do not resuscitate order, meaning that if Lisa Marie suffered another cardiac arrest, she would not be revived. So when she suffered her second cardiac arrest, she passed away.
The family has now asked for privacy in this difficult time for them. A statement by their representative read, “Priscilla Presley and the Presley family are shocked and devastated by the tragic death of their beloved Lisa Marie. They are profoundly grateful for the support, love and prayers of everyone, and ask for privacy during this very difficult time.”
It has now been learned that she will be buried next to her father and other family members in Graceland. A representative for Lisa Marie’s eldest daughter Riley Keough said that Lisa Marie will be buried next to her son Benjamin who died by suicide at 27 years old in 2020.
Lisa Marie’s representative also confirmed that Graceland would now go to her daughters, her oldest daughter Riley, and teenage twins Harper and Finley Lockwood.
A memorial service for her will be held at Graceland at 9 a.m. on Sunday, January 22, 2022. The family has requested people to make donations to The Elvis Presley Charitable Foundation instead of getting flowers.
