Donald Trump offers Americans $1 million for tipoffs leading to voter fraud conviction

Donald Trump has previously promised $ 5,000 to Americans if the Republicans win the midterms. Now, the president has announced another huge award for people who provide tipoffs that lead to vote-fraud convictions: $1 million.

Donald Trump and the Republicans are heading into the midterms with a lot to lose. Worst case, they lost both the House and the Senate.

Therefore, Donald Trump has done his best to make sure his side wins. For example, a while ago, the president promised every American $ 5,000 if the Republicans win the midterms.

Meanwhile, just as in previous elections, Donald Trump has launched theories that there will be voter fraud involved in the midterms. So, can the American public help the president with that? Well, at least that is Donald Trump’s hope.

In a Truth Social post on Monday, Trump said he will give a $1 million reward to individuals who provide information about voter fraud in past elections and the upcoming midterms. However, the money will only be paid if those responsible are arrested and convicted.

“Anybody reporting Voter Fraud in the past Elections, or the upcoming 2026 Midterm Election, will be paid $1,000,000 upon the arrest and conviction of those that created the Fraud! Thank you for your attention to this matter,” Trump wrote.

There is no evidence of widespread voter fraud in U.S. elections, despite President Donald Trump repeatedly claiming that fraud cost him the 2020 election, which he lost to Joe Biden.

Later, while speaking to reporters before boarding Air Force One to head to a campaign rally in Mississippi, Trump said, “I’m also going to be issuing a $1m bonus or reward, or whatever you want to call it, for anybody that reports voter fraud, leading to the arrest and conviction of somebody,” USA Today reported.

How Donald Trump plans to pay for the reward is still unclear. Per The Guardian, earlier this month, Democratic attorneys general from several states stepped up their efforts to prepare for possible federal interference in the upcoming midterm elections.

The move came amid growing concerns over the Trump administration’s claims of voter fraud. California Attorney General Rob Bonta also criticized the administration’s efforts to crack down on alleged voting by noncitizens.

He accused the government of “politicizing and weaponizing the law,” Reuters reported.

Rewards are nothing new

Concerns over election fraud claims are not new. For example, in 2020, Texas Republican Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick offered a $25,000 reward for tips about election fraud.

At the time, per WYMT, he said, “I support President Trump’s efforts to identify voter fraud in the presidential election and his commitment to making sure that every legal vote is counted and every illegal vote is disqualified.”

The first reward went to Eric Frank, a Democratic poll worker in Pennsylvania. His tip led to the conviction of a 72-year-old Republican man who voted twice in the 2020 election: once in his own name and once using his son’s name, The Washington Post reported in 2021.
