Donald Trump gives update on son Barron Trump’s future, days after historical conviction

Like the majority of teenagers his age, Barron Trump has been focused on finishing high school this spring. Unlike the majority of teenagers his age, however, it’s safe to say that he’s had a deal more on his plate, courtesy of his father, Donald Trump. Last week, a New York jury found the former president guilty of 34 felony counts of falsified business records, leaving both his immediate and long-term future unclear.

What is beyond doubt is that the legal woes will indeed affect his closest family, including his wife, Melania, and youngest son, Barron. The latter graduated from Oxbridge Academy in mid-May, and in the fall will most likely begin his college studies.

Barron Trump has been shielded from the intensive media coverage of his father ever since he was a child. In recent times, said media coverage has once again hit fever pitch, and though Melania has reportedly done everything in her power to help her son, her task has been challenging to say the least. While his own future has yet to be determined, Donald Trump himself has now broken his relative silence regarding Barron, revealing new details about what’s in store for the youngest of the Trump clan.

The Trump family is arguably facing unprecedented chaos after a New York jury found former president Donald Trump guilty on 34 felony counts of falsifying business records.

Donald Trump found guilty in “hush money” trial – calling it “rigged”

The “hush money” trial was covered worldwide, and while the former president has now officially been convicted, he, in typical fashion, maintains he is innocent of any wrongdoing.

“This was a rigged, disgraceful trial,” Trump told reporters upon leaving the courtroom. “The real verdict is going to be Nov. 5 by the people. They know what happened, and everyone knows what happened here.”

Following the jury delivering its verdict, Trump repeated several false claims regarding the trial, angrily complaining about the gag order he still is under. Moreover, the former The Apprentice star claimed he wanted to testify, but his defense advised against it.

“I would have testified. I wanted to testify,” he said. “The theory is you never testify because as soon as you testify — anybody, if it were George Washington, don’t testify because they’ll get you on something that you said slightly wrong, and then they sue you for perjury.”

As has become tradition, Trump blamed Biden “and his people” for the outcome of the criminal trial.

“They are in total conjunction with the White House and the DOJ. Just so you understand, this is all done by Biden and his people,” Trump said of the court.

It should be stated here and now that there is no evidence to support Trump’s claim, though that particular detail has never threatened to prove an obstacle in the past. As per NPR, the case against Donald Trump was brought by the Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg and prosecuted under New York state law, which means it was not connected with the White House nor the DOJ.

Where are Melania Trump and Barron Trump?

Moreover, Trump’s claim that the presiding judge, Juan Merchan, was “highly conflicted” also lacks even remotely compelling evidence.

Judge Merchan has set Trump’s sentencing for 10 a.m. ET on July 11. Technically speaking, the former president could be sentenced to probation or up to 4 years on each count in state prison (offering a maximum of 20 years). At time of writing, however, Trump remains a free man, and prosecutors did not ask for the opinion-dividing ex-president to post any bond.

It’s too early to say how the ruling will affect Trump’s plan for the 2024 presidential election. But it must be assumed that the process – and outcome – will surely affect his family, and most of all his wife, Melania Trump, and youngest son, Barron.

Melania was not once seen supporting her husband in the courtroom. Instead, she has reportedly followed the trial in detail from the Trumps’ Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida. As per reports, when she first learned about the “hush money” debacle the former first lady had other concerns on her mind, though she was rumored to have been furious.

Barron, meanwhile, has been exposed to media scrutiny for years – only natural since he moved into the White House when his father took office. Melania made it one of her highest priorities to protect Barron from the media, not only in the sense of blocking them from getting to him, but also from all that was written about his famous father.

In recent years, with Barron studying at the Oxbridge Academy in Palm Beach, Melania has made good on her pledge to shield her son from the oft-extreme media coverage concerning Donald.

More recently, as the trial against Donald Trump got underway, a source told the Daily Mail that Melania had locked herself in a “tight” bubble behind the gates of the aforementioned Palm Beach mansion.

Melania disliked that her husband spoke about Barron Trump in public

However, there are certain things Melania can’t protect her son from, such as his father talking about Barron in public.

The previously mentioned Daily Mail source claimed that she was fighting to keep her husband from revealing things about Barron because she was afraid it would spill into his private life.

Stephanie Grisham, who worked for Melania at the White House, told the Daily Mail that the former first lady “wasn’t happy” that Donald has spoken about Barron in the context of his trials.

“He talked about missing Barron’s graduation to the cameras and then again on Truth Social because it caused a lot of coverage about that, and it’s just not something she would have liked,” Grisham said.

During Donald’s trial, neither Melania Trump nor Barron were seen at his side. Even so, rumors insist that they’ve been closer to him in the last weeks than people might think.

According to Page Six sources, both Melania and Barron were at Trump Tower in Manhattan in the wake of Donald Trump’s guilty verdict.

“Everyone has gathered around Trump at Trump Tower,” a source told the news outlet.

When the verdict came, another insider told Page Six: “It’s like a funeral … There was hope all day and then none!”

“Everyone is upset”

“Everyone says Melania and the entire family are rallying around the former president,” the insider added. “But the mood is nonetheless gloomy and gloomier right now. It’s definitely viewed as a downer at Mar-a-Lago.”

“Everyone is upset. Trump talked to both Melania and all his children, including Ivanka. [But] Trump says the real verdict will take place in November when the people vote;” the insider concluded, while another source told Page Six that Donald’s friends described the outcome as “not unexpected,” and that they were well “prepared for the next step.”

For her part, Melania has been seen on rare occasions in the past few months. On Tuesday, she and Barron were escorted out of Trump Tower after reportedly spending 12 days “locked” inside. According to the NY Post, the mother-and-son duo loaded bags into a vehicle and headed to their “safe haven” estate at Bedminster, New Jersey.

In an interview with Fox News last weekend, Donald gave an update on how his wife is doing.

“She’s fine, but I think it’s very hard for her,” Trump said of Melania, adding that “in many ways, it’s tougher on them [his family] than it is me”.

While Melania is said to be angry with her husband, she’s stayed with him through thick and thin. Last year, she reportedly renegotiated the couple’s prenup, thereby securing millions of dollars for her and Barron in the case of any divorce.

However, one key person during the trial offered the former first lady different advice. Stormy Daniels – the pornstar Trump allegedly cheated on his wife, before being paid $130,000 for her silence during the 2016 presidential campaign – has now urged Melania to seek seperation.

Barron Trump to enroll in college this fall

“I don’t know what their agreement may or may not be, but Melania needs to leave him. Not because of what he did with me or other women but because he is a convicted felon,” Daniels told the Mirror.

“It’s been proven he is abusive; he was found liable for sexual assault and tax fraud and is now a criminal. He’s neither Teflon Don nor Teflon Con anymore.”

So, what’s happening with Barron Trump? Well, he graduated from Oxbridge Academy on May 17, and his parents were in attendance as he walked up on stage to accept his diploma.

How he feels about the verdict concerning his father is not yet known, but what appears to be set in stone is that the 18-year-old will enroll in college this fall.

Last year, the New York Times reported that Melania and Donald were already looking at colleges in New York. Donald Trump later confirmed that as he spoke with author Megyn Kelly.

The choice of school might be familiar for those who know their Trump history. In fact, Donald and his children, Donald Trump Jr., Ivanka Trump, and Tiffany Trump, have all graduated from the University of Pennsylvania.

Although Barron’s choice of school for his future studies will eventually be revealed, his father, Donald, decided to speak about his youngest son just days after the verdict in the “hush money” trial was made public.

Donald Trump breaks silence on Barron Trump’s future

The former president updated the world on Barron, stating that the teenager is now deliberating between several schools to attend in the fall.

“He’s amazing actually, in a certain way,” Trump said on Fox & Friends Weekend Sunday. “He’s tall, good-looking…a very good student. And he’s applied to colleges and gets into everywhere he goes.”

The former president added: “He’s very sought after from a standpoint. he’s a very smart guy. He’s a very tall guy. And he’s a great kid. He’s cool, he’s pretty cool, I’ll tell ya.”

Donald has spoken about his son many times during Barron’s upbringing, while the public by and large has been fascinated by how tall he is. According to Donald, there is a reason for it.

In his Iowa caucuses victory speech, Trump spoke about his now late mother-in-law, Amalija Knavs, who sadly passed away in January. He explained that her food was behind Barron’s height.

“Great people, great parents to all of us, really. Great parents, but also to Barron. Boy, did she take care of Barron,” Donald said.

“That’s how he got so tall, he only ate her food.”
