Drag racers mourn loss of 33-year-old driver

The world of motorsports was shaken with the heartbreaking loss of Lizzy Musi, the 33-year-old star of Street Outlaws: No Prep Kings, who passed away after a valiant battle with stage IV breast cancer.

Lizzy, known for her vibrant personality and fearless racing spirit, was a beloved figure in the racing community.

Her sudden death has left fans and loved ones in deep mourning.

The tragic news of Lizzy’s passing was shared by her father, Pat Musi, through a heartfelt Facebook post on June 27.

He wrote: “Surrounded by her family, in the comfort of her own home, Lizzy was called to heaven at 11:25 pm tonight. Thank you for all the prayers and support throughout her battle. At this time, the family would like to have time to process, grief [sic] and make arrangements in peace. We will give an update as soon as we have information to share.”

The racing community and her many fans were deeply moved by the announcement, reflecting on the courage and transparency Lizzy showed throughout her illness.

In 2023, Lizzy revealed on Instagram that she had been diagnosed with triple-negative stage IV breast cancer, one of the most aggressive forms of the disease. By the time her cancer was discovered, it had already metastasized to her liver and lymph nodes, making her fight even more challenging.

Despite the grim diagnosis, Lizzy faced her battle with an incredible amount of strength and resilience. She shared her journey with her followers, offering a raw and honest glimpse into the highs and lows of her treatments. Her openness about her illness was a testament to her determination, as she sought out various treatments, including a specialized liver-targeted therapy she underwent in Germany.

Lizzy Musi’s rise to fame came through her role on Street Outlaws: No Prep Kings, where she raced alongside her father, legendary engine builder and racer Pat Musi. Her presence on the Discovery Channel show brought her into the spotlight, but it was her extraordinary talent behind the wheel that truly set her apart. Lizzy was not just a television personality — she was a champion racer, with multiple Pro Street World Championships to her name.

Beyond her racing achievements, Lizzy was admired for her authenticity and tenacity. She was more than just a competitor; she was a role model and an inspiration to many.
