Every artist that has dropped out of Trump’s concert celebrating America’s 250th anniversary

Donald Trump’s star-studded “Freedom 250” celebration is quickly turning into a major embarrassment after a growing list of performers pulled out of the highly publicized concert series. Here’s all you need to know about who has decided to cancel.

What was to be an event to celebrate the 250th Anniversary of the United States has become a farce. As it was supposed to feature nostalgic music acts and patriotic festivities on the National Mall in Washington, D.C, it has instead turned into what many believe is a MAGA rally.

Headlines are focusing on who won’t be there to perform, and with each new artist departure, Trump’s frustration appears to be growing. Just days ago, Trump posted a long rant on Truth Social, claiming that he was “bigger than Elvis” while bashing the acts that have pulled out of the event

Trump also reportedly floated the idea of replacing the concert series with a giant political rally headlined by himself.

“I understand Artists are getting ‘the yips’ having to do with their performance on Wednesday,” Trump wrote. “So I am thinking about bringing the Number One Attraction anywhere in the World, the man who gets much larger audiences than Elvis in his prime, and he does so without a guitar, the man who loves our Country more than anyone else, and the man who some say is the Greatest President in History (THE GOAT!), DONALD J. TRUMP, to take the place of these highly paid, Third Rate ‘Artists,’ and give a major speech, rallying the Country forward like I have done ever since being President!”

The event seems to be set to take place, although not with as many – or the same – artists. Here’s a closer look at every artist who has pulled out so far and why.

Fab Morvan (Milli Vanilli)

The latest artist to leave the lineup is Fab Morvan, one-half of the infamous pop duo Milli Vanilli.

Morvan initially agreed to perform after being told the event would be a non-political celebration centered around music and American culture. But according to People, the singer changed his mind once the political controversy surrounding the concert exploded online.

Speaking to CNN, Morvan explained that he wants music to bring together people. not divide them politically.

“I’m here to, you know, to bring people together with music,” Morvan said. “I’m not into politics, so you hear it first here: I’m not attending.”

“It turned into a circus,” he added.

Martina McBride

The fact that the event has turned political, which has angered many fans , r drawndly played a role in Martina’s withdrawal. McBride has generally stayed away from overt political affiliations throughout her career, making the Trump connection especially controversial among fans.

Bret Michaels

Poison frontman Bret Michaels also reportedly dropped out of the concert lineup as criticism of the event intensified.

While Michaels has performed at politically themed events before, insiders say several artists were allegedly told the festival would be more of a broad patriotic celebration than a Trump-associated gathering.

Young MC

Rapper Young MC was one of the earliest performers to pull out. According to multiple reports, his departure triggered additional concern among other musicians attached to the event.

Speaking with Vibe, he said, “I had no clue it was considered a ‘Trump-backed’ event, so that was new to me My whole thing was, ‘Tell me what the event is, what it’s about, who you are, and then give me the choice of whether I want to do the event or not.’ I was never given that choice. I was told one thing and then it was a bait-and-switch. All the comments I’ve seen from the artists that have dropped out thought it was supposed to be a regular show in D.C.

The Commodores

Many probably looked forward to seeing the legendary funk and soul group The Commodores. However, they also backed away from the celebration.

The group became one of the biggest names to distance themselves from the event as criticism mounted online over the political messaging surrounding Freedom 250.

“The Commodores will not be performing at the Great American State Fair,” a statement from the group read. “Our music has always been our voice and we choose not to publicly affiliate with any single political party. We support the betterment of all Americans.

Morris Day & Real Milli Vanilli

Morris Day, best known as the frontman of The Time, has also reportedly withdrawn from the lineup.

The singer had been announced as part of the more throwback-backen entertainment schedule before later distancing himself from the event amid the growing controversy.

Adding some confusion to the situation, another act tied to the Milli Vanilli legacy, promoted as “Real Milli Vanilli”, also reportedly pulled out.

Who is still performing?

So, who will be at the 250 Freedom Concert to blast out their tunes? As of now, only a handful of acts remain attached to the event, including Vanilla Ice and Flo Rida.

Vanilla Ice, whose real name is Robert Van Winkle, told CBS News, “It’s simple as a pimple for me, there’s nothing to it. It’s the birthday of America.”

“Two hundred and fifty years. It’s not anything to do with politics. I don’t know why they’re turning it into politics,” he continued, adding he’s “never voted” in his life.

But with artist withdrawals continuing to stack up, questions are raised about whether the concert series will survive in its original form. Trump, however, appears determined to keep the spotlight on himself.
