New prison photos show the “Deadpool killer” bloated and disheveled, flashing broken teeth through his infamous Joker-style skeletal tattoo – a haunting contrast to the polished image he once used to conceal the monster beneath.
Wade Wilson – called the “Deadpool killer” due to his shared name with the Marvel antihero portrayed by Ryan Reynolds – was sentenced to death in 2024 for the brutal 2019 murders of Kristine Melton, 35, and Diane Ruiz, 43.
According to NBC affiliate WFLA, prosecutors described the killings as so violent that even seasoned investigators were left shaken.
The 31-year-old Florida man reportedly strangled Melton to death in her Cape Coral home before stealing her car.
Only hours later, when Ruiz asked him for directions, he lured her into the vehicle, strangled her, threw her from the car, and ran her over “repeatedly and tried to make her look like spaghetti,” Assistant State Attorney Andreas Gardiner told the court during closing arguments. “This case was about killing for the sake of the killing,” Gardiner added.
Confession and death row
In court, Wilson chillingly confessed during questioning: “I choked her out until she couldn’t breathe anymore…It came across my mind to murder, just kill, kill, kill.”
The jury took just two hours to convict Wilson of two counts of first-degree murder, along with additional charges including burglary, grand theft, and battery. Ten out of twelve jurors voted in favor of the death penalty.
Wilson is on death row at Union Correctional Institution in Raiford, Florida, according to Florida Department of Corrections, and among 256 inmates in the state waiting for execution.
Women swooning over ‘evil’ monster
Despite the sickening brutality of his crimes, Wilson has disturbingly developed a following. According to the New York Post, women have flooded the convicted killer with love letters, begging the judge to spare his life. Some even described him as “misunderstood.”
The Post writes that the killer received nearly 4,000 messages in prison, many from women sending explicit photos. Public records show that corrections officers had to reject at least 163 inappropriate images.
Following Wilson’s sentencing, State Attorney Amira Fox condemned the bizarre idolization. “It has not gone unnoticed that this defendant has been idolized by some people,” Fox said. “I have to say that I have never seen someone as evil as Wade Wilson, and I have never been so stunned as to see some people in the community that actually think it’s a good idea to support somebody that evil and monstrous.”
Prison makeover
Between 2023 and 2024, while housed in Lee County Jail – the same institution he survived a drug overdose – Wilson was issued a prison tablet that automatically snapped a photo each time he logged in.
According to the Daily Mail, these images were obtained through a Freedom of Information request and later shared online by crime vlogger Melissa Jade.
The pictures show a man far removed from the version who once appeared in court in suits, styled hair, and makeup masking his tattoos.
Now, Wilson appears bloated, with curly, unkempt hair replacing his trial-ready slicked style. His jaw looks misaligned, his teeth are cracked or missing, and his skeletal Joker-inspired tattoo – stretching across his mouth in a sinister grin – remains as disturbing as ever.
Another photo shows him with a bandage wrapped around his head – but the recurring theme is his drastic physical decline.
The once-polished “Deadpool Killer” is now exposed in the harsh reality of prison life – a grim reminder of the brutal acts that sealed his fate.
